A friend of mine is visiting Nepal after 9 years. We recently got into this conversation about how expensive kathmandu has got. He still thinks he can get by with a $1000 - 1200 dollars. I have tried to convince him otherwise but since I have not been to Nepal in more than five years, I am having a hard time convincing him.

Do the Sajhaites mind sharing their thoughts about how much money would be required for a  1 month, (nothing way over the top or extravagant) ?

if he isnt a womanizer and too much of a party guy, he should be good enough with that sum. But, if he keeps on giving parties to at least 10 frens of his multiple times, eat outside all the times, go to rated zones, dance bar, drinks heavily and make others drink heavily everyday, take taxi and roam around in it for a long time in a day..then that much isnt enough. if u do all of these then even 10k dollars wont be enough. do the math, if u spend 1k per day in taxi, u will need 30k rs per month. which is almost half the amount he has taken. Spend wisely, dont spend where he shouldnt be spending, dont act like a prince and keep giving parties to few other pals he hasnt known for years. He should aati fine with that money. Hope he has a wonderful trip home after 9 years.

Almost nine years back , a bottle of soda used to cost about 9 rs. Now it is 30.  If he has lots of friends in ktm to spend time with, that amount is not enough.
