 Puja on 84th b'day

hey does anybody know why they do "Puja" on the 84th b'day? Is there any special reason behind doing that?

People would not be surviving that long, it was an honor,  so they started it as a ceremony and took part of our culture.
My understanding is giving notice to neighbor and relatives that my some one in our family is over 84.
