I files my EDV from Espot Nepal. Luckily, I got selected in it. Now, I am in United States in F1 Visa. So what are the procedures that I should do? My parents had sent me the first letter here and I have it in my hand. I need help asap. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Send all the documents as your letter ask for it. Fill up the form correctly and send it. If you need any further assistance, I do have experience of handling various types of visa.. Just shoot me an email.

Congratulation. First you have to decide where you want to process. Choose AOS if you want to do adjustment of status and process all your work in US. Choose CP if you want to go process as normal case and go back to nepal for interview with the nepalese embassy. What is your range of case number?

I dont know the range number. It has been sent from Nepal to me and am waiting for it to be received here. Maybe it will arrive in couple of days. What are the procedures for AOS? What are the documents needed? Do I need to hire a lawyer?

Plz give me steps by steps. I would really be greatful.

Thank you

It's the simplest process. Do everything as written in information sheet. You do NOT need to hire a lawyer.

Hey devilwithin999,

U dont need to panic that much as you r now. I have gone thru the same process as u did.
Here are the stepwise process.
1. fill out forms that are in ur fst letter. If you want to do adjustment of status form US, there is a place in the form where you can write 'BCIS'. The instructions are in the form itself. If you want to be interviewed abroad, you need to write something else, which is not in my head at this moment.

2. Send these forms to Kentucky consular center. You do not need to send any other documents at this moment. You need to pay $375 to kentucky, it is the DV fee. You can do that later too if you want. You can send personal check or money order.

3. If u selected AOS(adjustment of status) you will not receive a second letter. Rather, U need to see when ur case becomes current. Go to: Travel.state.gov. under the visa section, select visa bulletin. Its updated in monthly basis. Go through the archieved bulletin and U will have a rough idea when ur case will b current. If you selected consular processing back in nepal, U will recieve a second letter, with ur interview date. Still Visa Bulletin is a useful tool. Remember, AOS is a lengthy process in comparasion to CP.

4. U need to fill some forms and send it to USCIS for adjustment of status. I did so, after my case was current. I dont know if u can do it before that. The forms that u need to fill out and the fee that u need to pay ... all these information are available at www.uscis.gov. Go thru it. The necessary papers that u need at that time are mentioned in ur fst letter. Keep it ready. send the copies to USCIS with the forms and take the originals with u to the interview.

5. U will get an appointment letter for ur biometrics.

6. After doing the biometric , U will get ur interview letter. Will ask u some simple stuffs N U r done.

This is jst the brief I told U. There r several other complicated matter in between. Give me ur email address N I will give u the minute details.
