Besha & Newtech,

There is permanent position for a SAS programmer at Bank of America in Wilmington DE .... let me know if you are interested.... I can NOT guarantee the placement but I can certainly forward your resume to the interviewer...

Keep in mind, this is a permanent position and you will need to have your visa transferred to BOA, which if you are interested can be done without a problem

I have just started working on SAS. I would say, I am beginner. Are you guys talking about use of SAS or progamming SAS (coding)?. What is the future of someone who uses SAS?

Hello Newtech,

How are you doing? Hope you're fine. My friend has been working in SAS right after when she finished her college. She's been working at PPDI, Austin for the last 1 and half year. She has been wanting to change the current company for the past few months as they pay very less for a MS comp science student. But not knowing whom to contact, she has been asking me for any info about possible opportunities in SAS. She currently holds H1B.

Please let me know if you think she can still apply at BOA or somewhere that comes to your mind. If you can send me your email/phone number, I'll ask her to contact you. Thanks again.

Regards

prabin

lonelyguy

Teradata and SAS goes hand in hand in corporate structures.

SAS does the data manipulation and Teradata holds the data.

In general cases all you need to know is how to get the data from teradata and how to upload data into teradata.

There are two ways of connecting to teradata.

1) Implicit connection and (using a libname),

2) Explicit connection (using proc sql),

1) Implecit is the one when you declear a libname and make the connection.

 libname test teradata user=sas_usr password="XXXXXX" database=SALES server=tdProod;

data xx.SAS_data_from_teradata;

set test.SAS_data_from_teradata;

RUN;

2) Explicit connection,

libname xx 'a:\atupadhy';

proc sql;

connect to teradata as b(user=sas_usr password="XXXXXX" database=SALES  server=tdProod);

create table xx.abcd as

select * from connection to b (select

c.xxx,

c.yyy,

d.abc,

from KKK c, SSSS d

where c.xxx=d.xxx);

disconnect  from b;

quit;

Also you can use the same to upload data into a teradata (assuming you have the right privileges)

Read this document for more info. AND, lastly, Oracle connection is almost same as teradata.

Thx

SAS inside terata is something new for me. I am working on the POC if we want to implement that in our company. Need to wait on that, sorry for the moment. However, It should be user freindly, if you know SAS.

I am currently on H1b and have over two years of experience with SAS. But it looks like I might get laid off soon. Do you guys transfer H1b as well?
