Dear All,

I am going to San Francisco Area for the first time starting Aug/Sept 2008. As we all know, SF has been the headquarters of gays/lesbian and same-sex couple. I know they behave different from ppl who are not. How could i distinguish them from non gay/lesbian people just by looking at them or observing at their attitude. Seriously, no offense for gays/lesbian and same-sex couples.

Thanks in advance. Your help appreciated.

Dear all,
Thanks for sharing your views.

Let me make a point clear, I did not start this thread to delve into others personal life. I respect their personal life and individuality. they are free to do whatever they think is good for them (but that freedom doesnot conflict with others freedom). and in addition to that, I also dont have an ill-will/hatred/dislike for them (unless they bother me personally).

This thread is with a motive of: recognizing a gay/lesbian and being aware of situation when u are alongside them and more importantly avoiding attitudes they follow. Last but not the least, I neither like nor dislike a person based on his sexual orientation, though i will be aware once i know the fact.

and my friend , if GOD MADE THEM QUEER than there is no necessary of showing them in public.. there are lots of crime that are held without notice of people. why can't they sit quiet and keep relationships quiet.

Have u ever saw them doing their activity.?

Gays are rampant everywhere it seems but prolly US is one of the most homophobic lands on Earth.
Now the new allegory for a phobia concept in SF could be
"Claustrophobia is the fear of getting stuck in an elevator with twelve gay men"

Are there gay people in Bollywood too?
Check out the video provided below:

i had seen (from a reasonably 'safe' distance hahaha) a gay or two in nepal but my first ever real encounter with one happened in india, in train.

au contraire to the US,  in india, you can 'easily' figure out (more often than not) if someone's gay from their appearance/get-ups alone hahaha....i think it was somewhere around nagpur or central india (where they say there are plenty of gays). i was all by myself seated in a corner listening to music through my walkie and this 'leda' ( or "gentlewoman" rather hahhaa) got into our compartment from nowhere. i still remember, (s)he was wearing a red sari and a green blouse (real gaudy shades). i wouldn't know he/she was gay if he/she didn't come close to me. (s)he was one beautiful gay in other words (not that gays are not beautiful ni pheri...let's say this one had more feminine charm in her neutral looks haha).

people started running here and there and i couldn't fathom the reason for the sudden turbulence until she came to me and started to caress my cheeks "oye chikna, bees rupaye nikal" she goes. i looked around and there was nobody hahahaha...i was taken aback by surprise in the beginning but when i noticed a day-long unshaven beard in her chin and a crack in her voice, i realized i was trapped in the 'corner' hahaha, i had no option but to succumb and give her the bill else she would keep caressing me forever. hhahaha.

heard a plenty of comic and some horror stories of my friends' encounter with gays in gay bar and all ,,,over here in the US but i haven't gone through anything like that yet. Not that i want to.

live and let live!

....as it's said we all have certain level of gay and lesbian streak in each of us.

eunuchs, gays, lesbians and cross-dressers-they are not the same. this morning i saw a cross-dresser all in pink, flowery clothes with his two labradors.no one paid much attention except for the few elderlies. the eunuchs are quite common in India, they are actually castrated males in most of the cases. they're a nuisance for sure but they are not gays. some of these eunuchs are biologically abnormal, they may either develop by themselves or acquire a female physique due to hormonal dysfunction. on the other hand gays are normal males just with different sexual preference than the opposite sex. male cross-dressers are different again, they love to dress in feminine way.

gays are normal people, they've always been there.they say even Achilles was gay.these days the whole gay phenomenon has been over hyped for sure." gay-ism" is IN, they r "coming out" and  hence being "SEEN". these days it's difficult for men to trust men. they often end up assaulted by their own sex. hence, the fear for gays is normal. and, for finding out who is gay and who's not... you can always look out for the conventional gay signs. it's not difficult to tell either after few minutes of observation i suppose.

it's strange that now, it's not just women, men also fear for the sexual abuse.

on a serious note, start carrying  pepper sprays guys.

gunyucholi,
quite an info there in your post. so are you gunyucholi in torso and jeans underneath (if there is anything underneath that is)? hahahahaha...
jokes aside, i agree with you on that these days gay-ism is over-hyped to some extent. also, many of them gays who feared social (s)reclusion in the past have now gathered enough courage to come out of their closets which, to me, is heartening.

there is no denying that gays are normal, however, straights tend to have either unnecessary apprehension or  unfair disdain (not that any disdain is fair) towards gays-in-general. a part of the reason, IMO, is their inherent fear (conscious/sub-conscious) of sexual abuse (i don't know if eunuchs/cross-dressers among the generic gays, with their appearance/actions, are more responsible for such abuses). hence when i say "live and let live", IMHO, it applies both ways meaning as much as there is a need of the recognition of gay rights, the rights of straights should also be respected coherently in a just society that doesn't have any kinds of gender bias.

and, for finding out who is gay and who's not... you can always look out for the conventional gay signs. it's not difficult to tell either after few minutes of observation i suppose.

there was/is this friend(male) of mine whose orientation i always doubted but he would always try to refute. whenever i (or anyone) pat on his back (as in greeting him or something), he would shrink and utter "Ouch"..hahahaha... when he seated on a chair, he would put his legs crossed and one on top of the other like them ladies wearing a tight mini skirt would hahahahaha....that was soooo funny. on top of that his voice hahahaha... i still remember and cannot hold my laughter...

then there was this another friend of mine who used to get 'excited' by seeing a male genitalia (in pictures) hahaha..i am sure he must have some gay streak in him.

ctal,
hahahaha...i thanked god for (s)he didn't sit on my lap. (s)he would have, definitely, if i had not shunned her from coming too close to me hahahaha..last thing i imagined was she on top of me and groping hahahahahahaha..ycuk!

Thank you all for your views.

Gunyucholi ji,
for finding out who is gay and who's not... you can always look out for the conventional gay signs. it's not difficult to tell either after few minutes of observation i suppose.

what does this mean actually and by the time i figured out one is a gay/ guy, then it might be time to run. so can you suggest me some ready-made solutions, which leaves me some time to run and be safe if i happened to be chased by one. I think, ga(the)y in US would be more civilized than in Nepal and India. but still you ought to be on safe side.

aloof ji,
that was a good one, ya i think i should bring back my football (soccer) skills from school days.

I agree with Bathroom.well said  that Its not ur funking business unless you want to join the gay club.. Why you want to find out who is gay n  who is not unless if you are one of them.....

I actually dont hate gay and lesbian. They are really nice people. I have some friends who are lesbians. But the gay activity and some of lesbian act !!! that makes me sick.

I had  a debate about being gay and lesbian with my friends. Some of them thought its just weak mind who has fear of opposite sex dominating them. Some of them said its just a fashion - In some cases to introduce himself or herself as something abnormal is cooooolest thing in this world. Those people dont want to flow with the mainstream and catch an obscure way. Some argument said they are confused. They dont know what they are doing? I have seen couple example where lesbians gave birth to children, once they were married, and one of them even got a boyfriend after eight years living with her girlfriend, and they are going to get married.

IN my point of view, gay is a character withing that guy. You cannt develope just by looking other gay couples. Man!!! you need a huge courage to suck another guy's ..... and to **ck his ***hole. A normal guy cant even think of doing that. BUt how can they do it? That's their character by birth, and they are attracted to do so; just like some animals can eat shit.
