Dear all,

Most of the arguments in that thread seem to be pro-king. I am of the opinion that there is no need to discuss this issue and prepare ourselves and the country to be a republic.

I am sure Nepal would face lots of problems in the coming years after being a republic. However, I think we should look towards future of the country. The politicians (all of whom are I believe come from the general population) would make numerous mistakes. And I think trying and making mistakes would be good lesson for the current as well as future political leaders of the country.

Thanks for reading. Please kindly share your opinion.

If I am supposed to select Paras (killed 5 innocent nepalis) vs Prachanda (killed 15,000 Nepalis), I will go for Paras: it is called dilemma. With current drama of Political disintegration in Nepal, it seems I should go for continuation of Kingship in Nepal, bhalai kina nahos Gyanendra was bizzare, Paras was a killer, and they are far better than Maoists. Who is less worst, right?

Once Gyanendra (=king) is thrown out, and Nepal is turned into a Republic state, I can feel more chaos to follow, and it will never return to Normalcy as many illeterate and/or over ambitious Nepalis would feel.

If Nepal becomes Republic, Maoist will turn "Mountain Part" of Nepal into Cambodia of 1970s. Since Maoist don't have control over Terai, and Terai will be controlled by non-Maoists with the help of India (because India won't like commies, bhalai kina nahos they used Maoists to arrive here), and it will help Maoists to rule over Pahad portraying southern fighters as traitors, themselves as messaih /saviors / nationalist Nepalis.

Please note that, here, souther Terai will fight against Commies in Pahad does not mean to pin point the currently referred Terai-Madhesh Bashis in that group, but I mean those who don't like to be a commie, will join forces in Terai to fight back commies. It will turn out to be a civil war like North-South Vietnaam, and the commies will empty the NRB reserves, and turn Pahad Nepal like North Korea for sometime, and finally, Nepal will become Bhutan (the security under the control of India) just the way Vietnamis kicked out Polpot from Cambodia.

Then, Nepalis will return back to their normal life where Bharatiya Gulams will be holding the political power in Nepal. Nepal will be a country in name, but with no independent decision making power.

I was a republic supporter during 2006 upheaval in Kathmandu, but with changing political scenario, I have realized that Republic is not a right choice for Nepal. Kingship in Nepal is not Gyanenedra or Paras alone, it has a history that goes beyond PN Shah ..... Mallas, Lichibi .... all of them tried to bring great things to Nepal, and certainly, a few were bad, and Gyanendra and Paras might be bad, but they are not as bad as Prachanda.

Jai Nepal.

NayaSadak

Where is the entire country besides those cronies? Isn't this humiliation to major section of Nepalese society who represent more than 75%?

In Sajha.com there are some people who pretend to be savior of Democracy, are in fact afraid of open discussion. There was one gentle he said he had a discussion in a forum for "DEMOCRACY", and dumps his "CONCLUSIONS" for public consumption as if a final decision: We have decided ..... in a "DEMCRATIC" discussion forum (democratic forum not open to public for even reading the proceedings of the discussion) ... What Bu(sh)it "Democratic" forum is that which can not let public openly read it! My point here is this. If you want to make a point in democracy, let people talk openly. TALK TALK and TALK DISCUSS DISCUSS and DISCUSS, so that they understand the facts. Democracy is for informed decisions. But, that gentle man who made decisions else where dumped his decision for our information, and BRB's BBC interview are similar: RUBBER STAMPING THE RESUBLIC DECISON THEY HAVE MADE.

Please note the word "THEY", this parliament does not represent "WE", so they don't have right to decide our future. They are not legitimate representatives. If you want to let democracy flourish, you should let people discuss freely, and let the decision --agreement-- come out by virtue of discussion. If Gyanendra or Kingship is not worth to continue, lets discuss, just don't ask "Hey don't discuss in that thread .... all these royalist should be rejected ....", that is not a democractic style of discussion. That is the reason, "Republic Nepal" is losing ground and legitmate in Nepal and elsewhere among Nepalis. The defenders of "Republic Nepal" don't have reasoning, what they have is only one "Rubber Stamp" i.e. "You Royalists". So what? Defeat me logically, if you are a proponent of democracy, don't impose your decisions as that guy tried to do his decision made elsewhere. That guy will even come here use some dictionary or medical terminology and use as bullet on your face and run away. Lets face the public. One thing we should know is that if you get angry, that is a proof that your logics and reasonings are drained. Just watch that guy. He might even come in different face.

So, BKB bro, let us discuss pros and cons of Royal Nepal, and unRoyal "Republic" Nepal. The last 20 months shows that we can not afford unRoyal Nepal. But, we can not also protect the most hated King in Nepal's history. He is going out very soon, provided CA election takes place. But, I am wondering whether Maoists and King G will shake hand with the help of Indian Embassy and "Hindu" Leaders in India. Its so fluid, it is very difficult to predict. I am very much wondering for the reason why Gyanendra is not speaking a single word against current move of SPAM. Possibly Terai-Madhes Loktantrik Party is a move designed to save Royal Nepal by The Hindu Leadership in India. I am very much interested in knowing the position of Badri Prasad Mandal, because Ram Raja Prasad Singh is still a questionable figure, and his claim of boming Annapurna Hotel plus Singha Durbar is still not a legitimate claim, many blame that he was made a overnight hero for bombing the Annapurna Hotel and Singha Durbar Gates. ..... I have feeling that Gyanendra is now just asked to keep his lips tight, and some other forces are working in Background. The other reason, he is keeping his lips tight is because he has a guts feeling that let these SPAM dogs fight for bones. They will eventually, come to him for the meat loaf.

Anyway, Paras is less worse than Prachanda.

GP
