School shutdown is affecting lot of poor family kids. It's also affecting the country economically and other things, as many of this poor families kids are dropping out of schools to help their family in the fields, and upper class people sending their kids to India for their education due to the frequent school shutdowns. "Frequent general strikes called by student unions and teachers unions have made the education institution uncertain and anarchic. Thanks to general strike, Nepal education system is uncertain and anarchic. This is the reason most of upper class and upper middle class families are sending their children to Indian schools."
I think school bandhs are not good way to protest. It's affecting everyone as a whole for long term. Their protest may be heard for while but it doesn't set a good example. Kids are hurt psychologically as well. I think there should be a way to resolve this solution. First of all I think the political leaders should not encourage bandhs when ever they want their demands met. That's so childish. The leaders should set an example by protesting in a way without hurting anyone, like asking to talk over the issues in diplomatic way.
As it is said by world renowned American economist J.K. Galbraith "where there is literacy there is no poverty and where there is no literacy there is poverty,”
With an average literacy rate below 60 percent and high drop out rate, I think such bandhs are bad for our country and it is not the way to protest.
