My OPT expires on June 15th, 2007. I have 60 days grace period after this which is August 15th. Do I have to attend school by August 15th (within 60 days grace period) or can I just issue my new I-20 within this 60 days grace period time and go to school from last week of August or September in order to be in status. Any one in this situation who knows the answer. Thanks in advance.

ask your school's international student advisor..he will know more.. if you dont hav one ask the admissions office..or the registrar's office they should definitely know it.

i think once you have I-20 for fall you are valid to stay..but m not an expert...

If you can get I 20 for fall, you are safe. your I 20 will allow you to stay for five months. suppose, if your I 20 starts from sept 1 and you have I 20 in your hand by april 1, you can stay those five months here doing nothing. so, you are safe here to stay.
