I am currently under H1B and just got another job. the new employer doesnt have a lawyer and i am trying to do the application process myself, but i just came across a few confusions, so what better place to ask than sajha!!!

1. can i file the LCA by myself on my home computer under my new employer's name? the online LCA thing gives you a big 'WARNING' thing so i am a little afraid.

2. when the LCA gets approved, do they mail the original copy or you can just print it online? i checked my last LCA and it had a signature from someone at DOL so was a little confused.

3. I've already worked a year in my earlier H1, so what will be the length of employment in the new H1? will it still be 3 years, or will it be 3 minus 1 year?

4. on I-129, under 'requested action', will it be 'extend the stay' or 'amend the stay' . seriously confused by this one.

5. do i need to include copy of current H1 approval notice and my I-94 with the new petition?

This is it so far, i would be really grateful if fellow sajhabasis help me out on this (as always). thanks in advance.

Bluebus, go through the website below. Might help you. Haven't tried myself, so don't know.

3. Total no. of years is 6 years. Initially they might approve for 3 years or lesser, but you can extend it later on.

5. Yes, you need to include a copy of your prior H1 approval (I-797), copy of your current I-94.
