Hello All,

I’m planning to travel to Nepal via Delhi in a few months time. I have heard many Nepali people say they do not want to travel via Delhi or that they’ve had problems travelling through Delhi. Having never done the trip via Delhi, I’m curious as to why everyone is so opposed to this route. Are Nepalis harassed at the Delhi airport? Is customs a problem? If it makes any difference, I’m of Nepali origin but hold a dual UK / Canadian passport.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks.

If you are transiting there, not a problem. But if you are getting out then sometimes customs harass you. But they have changed quite a bit. Shouldn't be a problem.

Hello Knownstranger,

Just came back form Nepal few weeks back before all the problems started in Nepal. Went to Delhi for few days and stayed there with relatives. Went to see Taj Mahal area as well. Delhi Airport is just fine. No problems with any people and airport staff. Have fun and stay out of trouble.

There are no problems going via Delhi and getting out of Delhi. It works just fine. I went through delhi, stayed there for few days while going to nepal and returning from nepal.

I faced no problem while going to US-Delhi-Kathmandu but when I was returning, they did my lagguage checking at delhi and tear out (broke) my suitcase so badly that I hardly recognize my suitcase. Nothing was mission though........but embarrassing while taking such a broken suitcase in airport.
