I remember some two years ago we had a discussion about Accountants Vs Economists. I just heard from a very reliable source (?) that Mr. Vir Bikram Rayamajhi, Chartered accountant has been appointed as the deputy governor of Nepal Rastra Bank. If this news turns out to be flase, I will accept your toung lash :).

Thanks in advance,
Prajesh

No comment, Prajesh-ji, no comment.

Chartered accountants rule in Nepal, doubling up as macroeconomists and what not, while those trained in macroeconomics end up working as highly-paid/globe-trotting professionals at international development agencies (for what they are worth!)

And that pretty much takes them OUT of the career path leading to NRB's
governorship or to top positions at the Ministry of Finance in Nepal.

Ke garne?

Yet, there are times when one wonder whether one should take Lok Sewa Exam in
the year 2010, and compete for positions laterally . . . :-)
