Man Killed In Hit-And-Run Identified

(CBS4) LONGMONT, Colo. Investigators have identified the 65-year-old man killed by a hit-and-run driver in Longmont Wednesday night.

Min B. Gurung was identified as a foreign national from Nepal who worked at a restaurant near the accident. The coroner's office said Gurung died from multiple blunt force injuries in an accident.

Police were looking for witnesses and a suspect following the deadly hit-and-run on Highway 119 just west of Hover Rd. in Longmont.

Investigators said Gurung was crossing the street to catch a bus when he was hit.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the victim did not stop and continued to travel westbound on Hwy. 119 toward Boulder.

Other area motorists reportedly stopped to help Gurung, but he died before rescue crews arrived.

The vehicle and driver involved were unknown. Parts left at the scene from the run away vehicle indicate that it was a maroon or burgundy colored 2006 Ford F-150 pickup.

Longmont police were seeking information from anybody who may have witnessed the accident or who may have information about the vehicle or driver involved. Anyone with information was asked to call Longmont police at 303-651-8862 or Boulder County Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Paramendra,

Do you know if the local Nepali association (if they have one) is collecting funds to help the surviving members / pay for the costof the last rites etc?..if so, we can perhaps start a thread here and ask for donations in addition to seeking funds from the other Nepali assocations in other states and perhaps beyond?

If anyone has additional information on this please post it on Sajha.

Thank you.
