I'm thinking of traveling to Nepal via Hong Kong. I know that you need a transit visa for Hong Kong. My nearest consulate is the Chinese Embassy in DC. I haven't purchased the ticket yet. Has anybody tried to get transit visa prior to purchasing a ticket? Do they give you visa the same day? How much does it cost? etc. etc. If anybody has any information, I would really appreciate it. I tried to call the embassy but in vein. Thanks a lot.

He don't you know that Hong Kong has asked all Nepalese not to bother applying for their Tourist Visa... they don't even accept aplications for Visa from Nepaelse anymore......

Transit Visa means you can hang around in that particular city for couple of days, meaning go out of the airport.... It's not gonna happen when they are already not giving Tourist Visa to Nepalese...

But if youare going via Hong Kong, you can still do that.. but you cannot go out of the airport.... just get off at hong kong airport.. hang around to change the flight, if it will take say 5-12 hours to catch next plane.. you might have to sleep inside the airport.

Visa Aplly nei nagarnu bhanchhan, mula ke garna sakinchha???? Paryo hami Nepali..... behal chha ,, ke garne!!!
