Not a word on the terrorizing done by the Maoists. And has anyone thought that those "dissapeared" are actually Maoists who deserved the proper treatment(shot point blank)?

It is time the King cleaned Nepal of these rats and vermins.

What is the difference between the army and Maoist?

"Testimonies from ?Clear Culpability: ?Disappearances? by Security Forces in Nepal?

The soldiers came to our village in the evening and burst into our house. As they were dragging my son to the street, I came out of the house, asked them where they were taking him, and begged them not to take my son away. But they pointed a gun at me and said they would shoot me if I did not go back into the house. They took him to the edge of the village, along with three other men, and an hour later we heard two long rounds of gunshots from there. But when we came, we found nothing there. An officer at the Rambhapur army post near our village first said we should bring a petition for their release, then suggested that they had been abducted by the Maoists, and finally said they had been taken to the Chisapani army barracks. But the officers there said they had no information.
--An elderly relative of 48-year old Jangu Tharu

After Som Bahadur was detained, for the first three months I visited him in the Fulbari army barracks. But one day I came to see him, and the army at the barracks told me he had been transferred to jail, but did not say which one. I searched every jail in the area, but could not find him. Then I inquired at the district police office in Pokhara, and the police said they had received his case, and were expecting him to be brought there. They told me he would come home soon, but he never did. Two months ago INSEC [local human rights group] inquired at the barracks again, and they said he was still alive, but they would not tell them where he was.
-- A relative of 29-year old Som Bahadur Bishwokarma

There were many soldiers in the village that night. One group took my older son, Khagga, away. Shortly after they left, we heard two gunshots from across the field, and wanted to go, but other soldiers were still in the house and they did not let us. They had their flashlights and guns pointed at us. The soldiers [that left with Khagga] then came back and took a wooden bed from our house?Another group then took my other son, Kala Ram away?I heard he was ordered, along with other men, to carry Khagga?s body on that bed to their van. Next morning we went to the field and found Khagga?s small sleeping veil that he took with him, all covered in blood, but we have not seen his body, and Kala Ram also never came back.

What do you want the soldiers to do to the Maoists? Give them medal and more guns? Of course the Maoists need to be hunted down and killed. Each one of them.

Brah"man" dude

Well, the way you described to deal with the Maoists will certainly make Prachanda and Baburam very happy. Remember "Operation Kilo Sera 2" and "Operation Romeo" launched in 1997-1998 by Nepal Police commandos during the time of then PM Girija definately helped no other than the Maoists.

The Soldier

He is that fallen lance that lies as hurled,
That lies unlifted now, come dew, come rust,
But still lies pointed as it ploughed the dust.
If we who sight along it round the world,
See nothing worthy to have been its mark,
It is because like men we look too near,
Forgetting that as fitted to the sphere,
Our missiles always make too short an arc.
They fall, they rip the grass, they intersect
The curve of earth, and striking, break their own;
They make us cringe for metal-point on stone.
But this we know, the obstacle that checked
And tripped the body, shot the spirit on
Further than target ever showed or shone.

There is something that is quite out of place with this report. Who is Brad Adams listening to? Who told him there were disappearances in Nepal?the Maoists, the politicians?certainly not the Royal Nepalese Army?

Will he believe me if I tell him that 2000 villagers were taken by Indian Army near a bordering town and now they?ve disappeared?

The truth is people make up stories at times like these and it is important to be rational and come up with solutions rather than create more confusion. Royal Nepalese Army is a well trained responsible army, there may be some bad apples but those people know that they will be fully prosecuted when they are caught.

If the world wants democracy then the leaders from India, UK and US should call the king directly and give him viable solutions on how to do it. He will listen. He has no choice. But a simple ?don?t do that?? won?t work..

This report is very ironic, it says that the Maoist are brutal and kill people brutally in public, but asks the world not to assist the Army who are fighting them. What is the solution here then?

Comrade Pade_Queen_no.1 ,

Lal Salaam

I would like to re-emphasize here, the Royal Nepales Army is a well deciplined, well trained and a responsible Army. If there was any evidence contrary to that then they would not be part of the UN peace keeping force. All of the top leadership in the Royal Nepalese Army have been trained by India, US and UK and they all have strong ties to the military leaders of those countries.

Please read between the lines. Post/Publish solutions rather than problems.

"the Royal Nepales Army is a well deciplined, well trained and a responsible Army"

Yes! till yesterday the RNA was a 'well-disciplined' naukars to the King and his Jarnel and Karnels. Jarnel Ranas, Thapas and Mallas ko ghar ma khana banaune naukar haru, even the army jawans were used a jyame, sikarmi, dakarmi- Jernel, karnel ko ghar banaunu pare ki hundreds of jawans would be called. Yes, well-disciplined they were, like slaves.

'well-trained and responsible' - yes! responsible to guard the king, not the people.

Lastly, No lal salaam for me. I don't like Gyanendra, that's it. disliking gyane doesn't default make me into a maoist.

Extremism get started cause of social diaspora. Same is the case of Nepal. There is no honest group. Army has human rights abuses records and so do maoists. But communism will turn Nepal into total chaos. Human rights abuses will be even worse. eg: Cambodia. Even Baburam has not denied it. SO, think about situation. There gonna be foreign intervention.

Multi paty democracy should have been better but leaders failed us miserabley. They need to build the trust. The way to build the trust will be let the corrupt be prosecuted and radical change in the leadership. Firs tof all they should their motives by cleaning up themeselves. This will help to gain peoles trust.

Royal Army. Human rigts orgns should be active. Training should be provided. However, in the current context this seems to be not possible.

Kings Motive. I admit he is shady. But in the current context I do not see any alternatives.

When the democratic forces had chance they failed us miserabley.

Looking back is all regrets. Looking forward is all dreams. So, gotta work on present. The present situation requires Nepalese to unite. I am letting you all know no matter what u rbeliefs are u gotta be able to prove that it gonna work. Nobody gonna give up their lives for just shake of democracy anymore cause people lost the trust. Need to bulid this trust first.

I am really scared of communism coming to Nepal. That is like worst nightmare coming true. COmmunism is not gonna work and it will country to further instability.

Ron said,
?I would like to re-emphasize here, the Royal Nepales Army is a well deciplined, well trained and a responsible Army.?
- Please don?t make me laugh. I just heard from my friend that she was asked 2 lakhs (in final interview) to get selected for Army Cadet. She did not get selected coz she said No.

What is really difference between a Communist government and King G?s government?
- Not much

Who are supporting King G?s government now?
- Cuba
- China
- Pakistan
- Russia
-North Korea (?)

Now King G?s Dog?s are saying that either you have to support us or u are supporting terrorism. (means if u don?t support us we can kill u coz ur supporting terrorism).

"And has anyone thought that those "dissapeared" are actually Maoists who deserved the proper treatment(shot point blank)?"

Brahman, why is it so hard to understand that war is not a solution in this civil war. I am saying this with full applied reason and with at most respect for human rights. Army and Moists both have enough resource to battle, atleast for now, and for most part moaists have more advantage in this battle than army, now what? Do you expect both of them to fight until the death toll reaches its height, in millions? It will just create more rage!

these "dissapereances" has just created more mess and has undermined HUMAN RIGHTS!, which will create more war,

Army and the goverment, who claim to be "THE GOVT", should not be commiting such acts, with their beloved citizen.

for now, i suggest you to be calm think and logic. VOILENCE IS NOT THE SOLUTION!

Ron, you have a good humour?? RNA is so disiciplaned and honest, is that why most nepali citizen dont claim them at all?
