I have around 100,000 US dollars on banks on Nepal on a Fixed Deposit of 6%. Yes, the interest rate is much better than US which has interest rate of 1%. I get a lot of interest money in Nepalese rupees, which is a good thing. Also, exchange rate of NRS vs USD will not increase at 6% per annum, which means that if I convert Nepali Ruppes to USD after one year, I will still be making profit.

However, Nepal does not allow converting Nepalese Rupees to USD. In other wors, they do not allow sending money from Nepal to USA without a valid reason such as student expenses, or medical expenses. In either case, I can never come up with a valid reason to prove that I need such a huge amount of money back.

Do you guys know a legal way to get the money back in USA, whenever I need it, specially when I plan to buy a house or some big investments?

normally they dnt allow u transfer $$$ without valid reason ..but if u have a good connection or if u can convince then ( NRB) u can do it. for example my father sold some of his familiy property n send me money it was around 198K in total last summer. we convinced them that it was a vilid money ( without corruption)..they were convinced...but if someone in your family is a government employee they will invistagate if this was money from corruption expect ur form army background. 100K sudnot be a problem if u could show them source ie its your trasitionanal property ur selling

This is as bull crap as it can be to say..you can just convince nrb and they will u send money. There is no legal way to bring money that way. Other wise bunch of investors will but money in Nepal with granted return of 6% and bring it back. People can run small scale hedge fund like that.
