Hello everyone
My name is Ananta Ranjit recently living in US. I was doing Bachelor in Architecture(5yrs) in Nepal at Nepal Engineering College affiliated to Pokhara Univeraity. I have completed 8 semester and my 9th and 10th semester as still pending because i had to come US. Its been 6 months here and i am i delimma what to do next. Whether to go back Nepal and contine or transfer my credit here and continue here. If i return back to Nepal it will take more than 1 year to complete my course because of thesis. And if my credit gets transfer here it might take more years to get degree here. So i really need good advice what shall I do. Which one will be better for me as i have to come back here in US for Masters program. Looking forward for your precious advice. If anyone had went through this situation i would hearlty appreciate your advice. Thank you

What Visa are you on? I guess green card doesn't allow you to stay more than 6 month unless you give them reason.
If I were you I will bring my certificates and try to transfer credit over here. Try on few colleges/universities , some of them will give you best credits.
US Degrees are more recognizable then from Nepal. Try to get it here.

If you are planning to do masters then first finish your bachelors degree from nepal and then you can do your masters in US. It will take you long time if you do bachelor in US ( have to take government history art and many more extra classes) and will save u time and money if you do it in nepal. Just my opinion

Hello Ananta, I had a friend who was in your situation couple of years back.He chose to stay here and not finish his degree in Nepal and it was hard for him. He finished in 3 years delay with lot of struggle, financially and emotionally,
My suggestion is to go back to Nepal and finish the degree and getting masters here. If you had green card, you can stay upto 1 year but you have to file a form giving the reason for your extended stay. I don't know lot about that but I know you can stay like a year not 6 months with filing specific form. If you can't do that you can always go back to Nepal 2 times, coming back in 6 months and again going back in a month to finish another semester. Or if possible just go to give your exams and stay here rest of the time ,may be for engineering it may not be possible I guess, anyways good luck on your decision

If it was any other engineering field, its a way better idea to finish BE from Nepal and come back for masters. Not sure abt architecture. Job market is not that good for architecture and pay isnt good either. So my suggestion would be to transfer some credits from Nepal and then do bachelors in other engineering fields like civil, environmental etc.

I agree with bairaghi.. it would be really hard for you to find a job in architecture. I would suggest you to complete architecture in nepal but do masters in some other engineering field in US. You can go and talk to advisors in some university when you are here.
