Before it's time to hashtag ‪#‎nepalilivesmatter‬ because of innumerous deaths due to lack of medical supplies and lack of transportation to medical assistance, we - Nepalis - need to do what we can to prevent it.

The lack of action by Nepali politicians to gain any international support makes it clear that there is an impending humanitarian crisis in few weeks if not months.

Most Nepalis do not have enough resources to recuperate from the recent earthquakes and are still homeless and struggling hard to make ends meet. On top of that, the blockade by India on essential medical goods and fuel have elevated the hardship to inhumane level. The blockade of medical supplies is comparable to suffocating the sick. We need international support in order to pressure India to abide by international laws of transit rights of landlocked countries.

Nepali organizations all over the world need to proactively get the world's attention by organizing mass gatherings in their respective cities. The Nepali organizations should not stay incompetent like Nepali politicians in Nepal who are not doing anything about this. It's high time for Nepali organizations in the US and other countries to gather the masses to gain a momentum of support from Human Rights activists and other international bodies.

If you feel that India has a right to do this to resolve the Madhesi issues, then you do not need to respond to this. It is simply wrong to hold all of Nepal hostage to force Nepali govt to change their policies. Madhesi issues need to be resolved internally without India's pestering and bullying.

Please urge your local Nepali Organization to do this as soon as possible. #nepalilivesmatter ‪#‎stopblockade‬ #stopsuffocatingthesick

Thesedays there have been dwindling participation in Nepali public events due to the apparently increasing groupism among different group of Nepalese with different interests and/or ties. This groupism is not a bad thing as it allows for Nepalis to stick to their own kind thus alleviating the need of putting extra effort of familiarizing with new acquaintances.

The reason I bring this up is to point out that one should not be prejudiced against participating in these protests because it is organized by someone not in one's comfort zone. This is not about us but it is about ours. This is about our family and friends in Nepal who have to endure the ill effects of an ill conceived, inconsiderate and inhumane attempt by Indian government to deprive the whole of Nepal out of supplies needed for their daily lives and their medical well being, in order to exert undue pressure to change our constitution.

Take a moment to imagine your life in the US without cooking gas, oil, gasoline for your car or access to medical supplies.

The majority of Nepal is already poor and fragile - and after surviving the devastation from earthquakes, they cannot possibly bear the blow of another humanitarian crisis.

Politicians in Nepal have long standing ties to India so they will not be putting their political careers at risk by condemning India publicly. So that leaves us the Nepalis living abroad to make the biggest noise about this inhumane action by India - while pretending to be champions of democracy by making public appearances all over the world.

We need to show the world what kind of inhumane conditions exist in Nepal currently due to the blockade.

In todays context of terrorist attacks that leaves hundreds dead, this blockade has become a source of terror that could cost the lives of tens of thousands Nepalis who are being denied their medical needs, food and gasolene supplies.

Lets join hands in collectively seeking international pressure to end this atrocious blockade.
