Go to Nepal on AP, and come back to US, and if you have enough evidence for political asylum, then you should apply.

If you have already make up your mind for asylum, why to go through TPS ?? Long story short, TPS is temporary status, asylum is permanent . Don't exceed more than 1 year to file case .

Mimro.. as you know i have overstayed, is it advisable to go back home on AP? from numerous threads and links, i have doubts on taking that RISK, if i may say so?

FB: I have already exceeded the 1 year bar. I only applied TPS as a cushion for my AOS. What do you think?

My one year deadline for applying asylum will expire on October so if I come back to USA with TPS AP then could I be eligible to apply for asylum?

It depends, leaving US on AP and coming back to US is not always 100% guarantee.

But if you are planning to apply for asylum, and you have lived in US more than a year then you should go to Nepal, and come back to US.

People who applied TPS, EAD, and AP together, all got approved at the same time. If you apply for AP now, they say it takes 3 months, but it might be sooner.

If you were out of status and now have TPS, don't bother to go back Nepal, they won't let you in for sure
