They denied my work permit. Did I miss the interview or did they cancelled my application? I am worried. Please help me with some suggestions. Not to mention I applied my work permit after 1 year. Further when I applied for my asylum on October 2014, I had an interview on December 1, 2014 but unfortunately I didn't get my finger print letter so the interview got cancelled.

"Not to mention I applied my work permit after 1 year. Further when I applied for my asylum on October 2014..."
Has it been a year since October 2014 already? I hope you meant 2013. Based on the "41 days" reference in the letter, it sounds like you never appeared for the interview and they might have thought that you withdrew the case? Best bet, call USCIS..good luck!

AFAIK, changing address does not stop your clock. I did it so many times since my friends kept on moving. But it looks like you either missed interview or somthing. Delay from your side stops clock and it would be really complicated . Get lawyer

I need specific reasons. Some says something and other says another thing, I am more worried. I want answers from someone who went through the same situation.

I called the 1800 number but they said read the letter why your EAD was denied then when I asked about my pending asylum they said they can't tell me about it but rather told me to call the San Francisco office and gave me the number. When I called the asylum office they don't pick up the phone. This is bullshit when they say call 1800 for inquiry.

Ujyalo bro,
its better to go to the asylum office where you filed the case. They might explain things better. It looks like your clock was stopped after 41 days.
May be hire an attorney as well.

Good Luck !!!

Ujyalo,

when you call 1800 number, tell the representative to transfer your call to L2 officer. Representatives don't have much access to the file, and yes, they just read the letter or online status update. L2 officers have access to your file, so they can dig into your file. If they can't provide the concrete answer, they will create a service request (SR) and the officer handling your case will send you a written mail explaining the status of your application in details.

Also, you can make infopass appointment with your local USCIS office
https://infopass.uscis.gov/

If you make an infopass appointment, you can meet the USCIS officer and he/she will walk you through the status of your application and provide you the reason why they stopped your clock.

Hope it helps.

Madanbahadur thanks bud, you are awesome. I called the 1800 number and asked for L2 officers, but the answering machine told me that they will call me back after 24 minutes, I waited but never did and when I went to work I got a call but unfortunately I had to cancel and thinking about calling tomorrow. Thanks man your suggestions was really helpful.
