Has anyone applied for Green Card while working in Curriculum Practical Training (CPT)? Do you know of anyone who has done so? How likely are you to get denied when applying for Labor while working in CPT? I am trying to weigh in my pros and cons.
Thanks,
CPT_GUY

Same situation bro, is there any one who has had their GC approved while being in CPT?

I don't think there is a relationship between OPT/CPT and Greencard.
The reason why people afraid to apply greencard with OPT/CPT is that those work authorizations are limited. If you are applying for EB2 then you need have to have work authorization valid at least for 3 years otherwise you will be out of status as EB2 entire process(PW till 485 approval) is taking longer these days.
You can even apply for H1b and GC at the same time and if your both GC/H1b approved then you need to let your company know under which work authorization you want to work.
Yes it's possible that you keep on working on H1b even if you have GC.

It will become even more complicated if you applied 485/140 and also F1 (just in case to be in safe side). In that case your F1 will be denied because F1 is non immigrant visa and you have already seeking for immigrant visa(GC). However H1b is not Dual intent visa(Immigrant/nonimmigrant). If you are in H1b then you can apply for GC or F1 both with no issue.

I am not any lawyer here but above statements are as per my knowledge and please consult with some immigration lawyer before taking any action.
Hope it helps!

Green Card process can be started at anytime regardless of your status [I am not inferring about out of status or illegal immigrant]. You can be on F1, tourist visa or not even present in U.S. One of my friend did go through the process during his CPT and sailed through processes easily. That was few years ago when Labor approval used to take only 90 days and he was able to get EAD within a short time
