I had my sister's wedding reception done in Baneshwor Party Palace. It cost me around Rs800 per person but it was worth it. The food was very good. They have a very clean kitchen and lots of personnel to help and serve you. On top of that, the parking lot inside the party palace is very big. Can accomodate a lot of cars and motor bikes. I would definitely choose Baneshwor Party Palace for any future wedding reception.

By "affordable", I'm assuming you're talking about the price of renting a party/catering place, and not about the food because price they charge varies by what you wish to serve your guests. I've heard good things about catering companies/venues in Teku and Baneswor w/ ample parking space. One of my best friends recently spent Rs. 800/plate and the food they catered was really delicious!

If the venue that Hurray mentioned happens to be located on the opposite side of Everest Hotel (opposite side), then I can certainly vouch for it. They had great underground parking facility - both for cars and motorbikes.

Hurray is refering to "Baneshwor Banquet", it's few mins from New Baneshwor chowk on the way to Anamnagar, just where that Oralo starts in Anamnagar.

I also vote for "Baneshwor Banquet". It's in a perfect location. Ample parking space, Menu price is reasonable. Food is good. After the party, very easy to get Taxis (that's what most nepalis want).

The one opposite to Everest hotel is probably "indreni Complex". I have heard some good things about that place as well.

But i would go for Baneshwor Banquet. Try to negotiate the price with them !

Suggestion/Recommendation: I would put one person from your family/Relatives just to watch them count the plates or stand where they give plates STRICTLY RECOMMENDED. This is where they'll rip you off.

One More suggestion: I would write "Invitation card required in the wedding reception card. Otherwise you'll see many faces that you had never seen at your wedding party and make sure it's being strictly forced at the main gate or have someone stand at the gate and watch for that !

Well, it depends on your location, I guess...I think you would want the location of party palace close to where you live....I did my reception last Jnauary in Swayambhu Party Palace and I was quite satisfied with almost everything. 21 items (13 entree items and 8 appetizers items) with good number of non-veg items could be selected....The price we paid was Rs 600 per plate....I also had around 500 to 600 range of invitees....Might not be the perfect place but would recommend for an average kind-of reception....

Yes, the Baneshwor Banquet I was referring to is located just before the downhill starts when you head towards Anamnagar from New Baneshwor Chowk. US_returnee also mentioned one of the other very important factors when you organize a wedding party, you want to make sure that your guests will have no problem getting taxis after the party. For that Baneshwor Banquet is located very well. I had one of my friends who was so drunk that he had to leave his car in the party palace. The party palace had a party next day in the afternoon. But still, the staffs were very nice and they had absolutely no problem leaving the car in their parking lot. My friend went back 3 days later to pick it up. This is when I was pleasantly surprised by their customer service.
They also have a guard. May be you can ask the guard to check that your guests have invitation card to sort out the free loaders.

I have seen many party palaces in Kathmandu but many of them are located in areas where it is very hard to find taxis when it starts to get dark. At the same time it is normal. A good party palace requires a big space and it is hard to find big spaces close to center of kathmandu these days. So yes, Baneshwor Banquet is not bad at all in many aspects.

Royal banquet at tinkune is nicely priced. food pani ramro cha. most importantly the banquet hall itself looks very elegant. tinkune ko park najijkai. I recently went to a friends wedding. I was really impressed with the decoration as well as food.

The one I know near Balaju is Sasa Banquet in Naya Bazar. It is nice and affordable. Check their website :-
