Guys,

Me and my wife are planning to do our wedding ceremony in few months. We have been married in papers for almost 3 years now but the ceremony hasnt been done yet.

I was wondering what is the process to invite them over here and what type of documents is required?

( I am a citizen and she is permanent resident)

Thanks in advance

It's really easy just write a letter to US Consulate Visa Section explaining why you are inviting your in laws. include your bank statement that you will take care of all their needs including any medical needs when they are in the US. then include your citizenship no and your wife's green card no.

for documentations check this page http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1262.html#documentation

Thanks a lot man but do I have to print a wedding card and put it as a document too?? I heard they are really strict these days in giving out visas. Is there any other way to invite them here without getting risk of being denied in visitor visa? ( I might sound stupid but is there is any way other than visitor visa, I heard about filing petition but that is to immigrate and they don't want that...all they want is come here and do the wedding and leave)

I guess your in laws will have to prove that they will return back after visit. Though i am not 100% sure, they getting a tourist visa only based on the paperwork that you might provide, might work against them.

I knew someone who did it like that ages ago and got tourist visa rejected for parents even though sponsorship from this side was good. Plan well. Make sure they put a strong case also, showing property, business, job, etc. The tourist visa will be decided based on that. Good luck.
