IDK why he/she will be in drugs for simple question as this one. Nonetheless, to your query YES! boston C group, m'kinsey, bain do hire phd eng kids. However, they all do that in-school recruitment. IDK why you would ask this question in this forum instead of your CS in school. hmmmmmm. Obvioulsy recruiting is def hard because these are your top 3 consulting groups and amount of ass kissing you have to do, if you are going through cold call, through friends, is pretty crazy. Your best bet is to call your school and see if those companies recruit at your school. If they dont than start calling your professors, idk, you aunt, who ever, or even cold call. You can apply through their website but idk how much exposure you will get, since they mostly hire MBAs and like i said MOSTLY recruit from colleges.

to your last question, there is one person, Nepali, who gradute from HBS, and i think he is a senior --- at BCG. But, i think is pass 45 year of age. not that this matter.

Also, please stop trotting around about how you have phd from top 10. this is not gonna take you very far. last think you want when you looking for consulting job to brag your resume. these companies got people, who are wicked smart that they will blow you mind. So humble.  I personally know peole who have phd from MIT, C mellon, michigan and they were not taken pass their final rounds of interview at bain. just a thought. GL.

You should try looking into mid tier consulting group.

Dude, this forum might not be the best place for you. If I were you, I'd get a LinkedIn account (if you don't already have one). I'd then find alums from my university on LinkedIn (if you went to a good school, you will find a lot of them working in good places, and you might be able to find people in organizations you want to work at as well). Send them a note, tell them what you're looking for, and they should be able to help you out.  I think networking is the best thing about going to a reputable school, and you should definitely take advantage of that. Thats how I landed my first job here.

My top 10 $0.02 Suggestion would be => There is no such thing called top 10 consulting company. I have worked with more than 20 consulting companies(desi, american) and found ultimately they are rotten in the core itself. They are only money hungry people.
If you want to go through consulting company then you are actually abusing your top 10 phd degree. Sorry for the hard statement but that is the truth because if you are trying to find job through consulting company it doesn't matter whether you have degree or phd from top 10 university or you are simply SLC pass + one month training. All it matters is ability to grasp the knowledge, quick learning and communication skill

Dear truenepalidude,

I would like to add some lines in regards to your way of depicting yourself.
First of all, your degree and ability don't go together with the way you presented with the phase "Top 10". There is no as such "Top 10" when it comes to presenting your skills and ability in the competitative market.
Secondly, you being a person with highest degree should not portray yourselft like this i.e. "Top 10 University". It will hurt you.

Just a thought but not an advice.

I don't mean to brag about my degree or school.  I heard that these firms do give preference to students from good schools.  I just added this info for sajha folks who might ask me about my background school.  I personally don't care too much about school as long as he/she can do the job. However, in real life the situation is different.

degrees and schools matters dude, the first step of commitment is you have some basic qualification, and your school and degree answers that first.
