We can do this.

1. We already have hydro-power generators in many places. We will also build new nuclear power plants as in many countries.
2. We will build electricity transmission towers that will transmit electricity without wires. It will be via satelites. It may also be via the cellular power receiver/transmitting towers - exactly like cell phone towers.
3. These towers will again supply the power wirelessly to individual power distribution centers. It will eventually have another subset of wireless power distributers.
4. Every house will have wireless power receiver. At the end every house will have electricity like today.

Do you think we can build wireless electricity supply technology for every cities and houses? I guess we can do it.

If tesla did it almost a century ago, why can't we?? But the thing is government may not like the idea. But, whatever things you are listing, seems like the idea from the future :D

Sure why not. We can also transfer human body through satellite instead of travelling and flying. We convert human body into 1 and 0s of digital language and transfer through nepal-telcom VSAT and receive in AT&T VSAT in america. how about that??

PS: I am replying to this thread because I am super bored at my work place :P

NepaliBudho jyu,

I would rather worry about generating sufficient electrical energy, providing enough poles with lightning arrestors, properly sized fuse cut-outs and insulators and carrying adequately sized overhead lines at places. Distributing enough power to every house has already become a big of a deal. So, wireless energy transfer in a country like Nepal is out of the question.

Like bittertruth had mentioned, it can be done in future. It is way too early to think of that now.
