You can apply food stamp at the same moment if you don't have any income rt. now. Btw. go take a look around and apply in cafe, fast foods or restaurants. Wallmart, CVS, target are another option where you can drop your phone number to get feed back. Good luck on that.
Oh America you know how to play game. There are some to whom you give all papers and don't tell them how to get job and for ppl like me who got job or qualification to get more better opportunity but not any papers for what all students are struggling.

do go to far remote area if they want you to meet.. , been reading some scary news off craigslist ad victims who were drawn far from the city area, murdered and buried. it was on the news months ago.

go and search for 'GIGs' in your local area,

I was pretty good in computer, when I first came, I looked up on 'GIGs' and I taught ppl programming/fixed computers/networking and all those sorts of things...

I don't know what is your skill dynamics.. depends on you..

why don't you do what most freash out of the boat Nepalis with gc do, go look for jobs in Indian gas stations, motels or restaurants. use your hindi skills that you've been learning since childhood. sorry not trying to be condescending but just giving you straight facts that might be helpful.

Since you already have a GC you don't have to worry much. Do you have a high school and/or college degree? Try to find a job around there via networking and be careful when chosing your friends. Dont lend money to anyone( this is extremely important)
