Kati aako eslai.........lekhnapani. Lau GT....yasari nai pragati hos.

Kya Daami chha hou rachana ta.......Euta arko morcha ko aahawaan hunchha ani ma garlyamgurloom dhalchhu...... I m imagining the scenario...... Keep it up GT brother!

The beauty of literature is in its interpretation from the readers. It is unfortunate if the writer wants to limit the interpretation to his own.
Awesome writing Geology Tiger. Baphre-baap!
Geology Tiger,
You make some really good points in your poem. Sometimes I think to myself all the things about Nepal that will not change in my lifetime. Too much change is exhausting. Everybody wants to change the world. But change is not always the answer. A lot of times it is about being satisfied with what you have and finding inner peace.
Great poem. Maybe we need to start a Morcha for stability and no more change.
Been there, done that
We don't need no revolution for the moment, thank you By Rubeena Mahato:

babal khate,
I can understand your frustration and I also have similar feelings regarding the current situation of Nepal. As I am scaling towards higher academic degree, I am closing my door back to home. And the key cause behind this is the political instability we have in our country. I would have been proud geologist serving my country for petroleum exploration along Terai belt. Even several companies have purchased license to explore in that part none of them is risking million-dollar equipment to carry any exploration. If bunch of hooligans vandalize their equipment who is going to repay them? And with no opportunity to serve in my home country, I am now trapped in US and feel guilty everyday. But I can tell you that I have not forgotten my root. If not the next year then the following year, I will be back and start Aloe Vera plant in my village. I don’t care my academic specialization; just want to do something in my country.
It’s not your fault that you want change in Nepal, but as you have pointed out there we need to have stability to get change. If you ask me one question which industry has more potential for the development of Nepal? I’ll say tourism. There is no way we can compete India and China in other sectors. If we can supply domestic demand of agricultural products that will be more than enough forget about exporting anything. Our remittance-based economy can collapse any time. Only sustainable development is through tourism and for that we need stability.
None of the political parties and leaders is serious about the development of the country. All they care about is money and power. And for the sake of their own benefit they keep brainwashing people and will never allow political stability in our country. So how we can fight against this? I know some so called NRN never get tired talking about transfer of technology and money to Nepal but felt pity on them when I heard that they asked financial support from government of Nepal for their annual meeting, shame on them! I remember Timer who always writes sooner or later people of Nepal will be well educated and they will not fall into the dream these political parties are showing to them.
I don’t have any doubt that you are keeping ‘root of our mother country alive. I read one of your posts that you want to take your children to some kind of Newari party and show them the tradition we have back in home. I think that is the way of keeping our root alive. But to bring change on overall situation of country there is no other way than educating our people. Hoemyji’s idea of ‘think tank’ might be very useful. I won’t move backward if someone asks me to join such tank but I prefer to contribute individually in small scale. I am not doing big thing but supporting one Nepalese student financially for his study back in home. I think if each of us who want to see some change in our country supports only one poor student back in home that is definitely make some difference. And we have this awesome platform to share our ideas. So my friend don’t get frustrate and don’t dispose your dream of changing our motherland and keeping root alive. We need stability but that is for change not for what we have now.
BTW, I didn’t follow the link you have posted, just trying to address some of your earlier questions.
Thanks,
Geology Tiger,
It sounds like you are trying to find peace in working on practical solutions like starting an aloe-vera farm. I think that is a wonderful idea. I know you will inspire many people by your actions. Let me know if I can help you in any way.
Once again in your post you have made some great points. I wanted to ask you:
Honestly speaking, in my mind, I don't even know what a stable Nepal would look like? Do you have any idea?
Sometimes I try to visualize mentally freezing Nepal and take a picture of a stable Nepal. And I find it so difficult. If Nepal was truly a stable country what would that look like?
Geology Tiger,
What do you feel are the things that need to happen first, before Nepal can be stable?
And please don't say political leaders. That is a weak answer. I feel the political leaders are a symptom of the problem. But it is not the root cause. What is the root cause that prevents Nepal from being stable?
You are a geologist. Think of it in terms of soil. What does soil need to be stable? What is the cause of unstable soil?
In the history of Nepal, has Nepal ever been stable? When?
Honestly, asking myself this question, I feel that during Mahendra's rule, Nepal was the most stable. I know that Nepal was not very democratic in Mahendra's rule. So maybe that is the tough choice that us Nepalese need to make. Maybe we are not mature enough to have both stability and democracy. Maybe, at least for the near future, we need to choose stability instead of democracy. Maybe we need to have a strong leader like King Mahendra was.
I am not proposing that we bring back the monarchy. We are simply discussing ideas. I find discussing ideas, even if the ideas are a little extreme, to be a better alternative than to just throw our hands up in the air and give up, no?
