How to differentiate a PAKHE from a SHAHARIA
When you go to nepali parties can you differentiate Pakheys and shahariyas?

I still think that you are mvc, you started out by writing Pakheys in your original thread and then later it became pakhes.Now go back and read your recent post and see how you wrote that word. Haha!
If I am a pakhey, then I know that you are more pakhey than me cause I know I went to better schools and grew up in better places.
P.S. A question for you. Do you find homeless people or those people who are suffering in US entertaining?

PAAKHE is a degratory term....its like "NIggers"....that why the word itself is not appropriate.....other than that, people are shaped by the opportunities they get and the environment they are in....while you may be fortunate than others, its very dumb to judge someone based upon what family they were born in.....I was lucky that my parents were well off and I am also very grateful that I went to a school where you had richest and poorest studying together....if everyone had same opportunity, I don't think anyone would be a either pakhe or sahariya......
if you really want to grow up and be more mature, its okay to introduce yourself to one of these "PAKHE" u meet at a party and get to know him.....you can even try to teach him some common norms after you get to know him well.....
Remember, at the formal dinner with your companies executives, you are the "PAKHE" who might rest arm on dinner table, uses fork to put butter on dinner roll or eats soup with your desert spoon......and I say that's OKAY as long as you are polite and humble and willing to learn norms as you experience them......

Most of you are talking from a pedestal judging me for calling someone pakhey. Let me ask you one simple question.

Haha so you have the moral authority to call someone stupid but others are not allowed to call someone pakhey? Pakhey is just another word for 'villager'.
I am sure most of the people condemning me in here have used the pakhey word at some point in their lives.

my opinion,
1. If they are wearing sneakers and dresspants.
2. If they have their polo, v neck, roundneck shirt tucked inside their jeans.
3. If they stare at you as if they know you and keep staring at you.
4. If their first question to is 'what is your status here in u.s?'
5. If their second question is where your father works.
6. If they are standing, have hands inside their jeans, and looking around at ~60% angle.
7. If they talk to you when your outside smoking and you both are sober.
8. If they comment on girls' dress, cigarettes, or alcohol.
9. If they are drinking budweiser out of a can.

it's just my opinion. just because you are a pakhe doesnt mean i despise about your kind. i used to be a pakhe also but now i have become sahariya. but sometimes i still have some of my pakheness in me.

if people who do all those things are pakhey then what else are they supposed to do to not be a pakhe and be a "sahariya" like you? scratch your balls and pick your nose like you do? and then use the same finger you used to pick your nose to clear that little thread of meat that got stuck between your teeth?
and bad boy, if Pakhey is just another word for 'villager', go call your dad, who i guess grew up/lived in village at some point, a pakhey and tell me what response you get.

I wrote that because in his previous posting in this thread, he made fun of people who dont speak proper english.
Jantare, sorry to burst your imaginative bubble but my ancestors are from Kathmandu for at least past 5 generations that is known. Before that, who cares anyways.
Maybe you guys are offended because you're first generation not so pakheys?

Paakhe- Amrikamaa basne jati Nepali.
Shaharia- Nepalmaa basne jati Nepali.
