Cleaning DSLR sensor

I noticed some dust in my camera sensor. I tried to blow it out with the blower but nothing happened. I am thinking about taking it to a camera repair place but I thing its gonna be quiet expensive. If there is any other ways that I can do to remove the dust, I would love to give it a try. Does any one have any solution to this problem? Thanks.

Which Camera is it? I had Nikon D80 and I cleaned it myself. I bought this cleaning pack from ebay and did the cleaning watching some videos from youtube. It is easy to do, but you should be careful too.

I got Nikon D60. I watched some youtube videos too but I wasnt sure if it really works or not. Could you tell me which method will be the safest and the best?

Any ways nice to see you back Juggy. And what happened to your thread Photography Tools and Techniques? I really liked that thread. Thanks to you for introducing HDR photography. I am doing quiet a bit of HDR photography myself now. I'm loving it. I would love to see more of your work man. Keep up the good work. We need your thread back. TC.

and just followd the instructions it had on its paper after watching some videos on You tube.
I am not too much active in forum these days, but it was nice to see that thread taking off and people enjoying photography. For me I left HDR because it started hurting my eyes after a while. Kind of this article resembles my thought these days-->

I went more toward giving my photography some direction. Went throught tons of photobooks of masters, took a workshop and a group exhibition plus a group photobook is coming in near future.

I use three nikon prime lenses. 28mm f 2.8, 35mm f2 and 50mm f1.8 but most of time 35 mm is my workhorse. I think you have pretty good sense of light watching your videos. I just do trial and errors to learn about light and I still have not learned 10 percent about light yet. It is as mysterious as women eh.
I work more with natural lights but I had always wanted to learn about using strobes. Maybe someday I will.
If you ask me, I wouldn't suggest you to go that wide, unless u are really into wide angles. I think 20 mm converst to 35-37 mm for Canon after considering cropping factor.so it might be ok too. It depends on what u want.

It would convert to roughly 50 mm which is what our normal eyes see.
I also sold all of my digital gears and shooting all analog these days. But I plan to get Canon 5d mark ii or new nikon full frame camera if they release by end of year if i can save enough which I am not sure.

rockey, try the kit juggy suggested but be careful - you don't want to scratch the sensor or put too much pressure on it or you'll end up spending a lot to repair/replace it. btw, does your camera have self cleaning sensor? if it has, then what you are seeing on the sensor might not be dust, check carefully before you tamper with it.

nas: get canon's 50mm f 1.8 lens, works great for low light conditions and is really cheap - about $100 (probably the cheapest of all canon prime lenses?!). i'm buying one shortly because my 18-135mm is not so good for low lights

Thanks Juggy and Jantarei for the suggestion. Actually Nikon D60 has a self cleaning sensor, but it seems like its not very effective on my case. Like nas, I must be stupid that first I tried to remove the dust using the lens cleaning brush. Later I found out that I made it worst. I could see more dark spots. Then I used a blower to blow away the dirt. It worked little bit but still I can see some fine spots on my picture. Since my picture contains dark spots, I'm pretty sure that my sensor is dirty. Or does this happens because of other reason too??

Any ways it might sound stupid, but can any one tell me where is the sensor exactly? I thought the mirror is the sensor.

Juggy bro!! Its disappointing to hear that you abandoned HDR photography. I thought HDR is pretty cool form of photography. Its a great combination of photography and digital art. Nice Portrait Nas. Looks very cinematic. I didn't know you could use Nikon lens on Canon body. Are all Nikon lenses compatible on Canon?

Oh sorry, I dunno how that blank post was made.
Actually I have a question or two for you.
Does the auto focus and light metering work with adaptor?
And if it doesnt how do you control the focus manually and light metering?
I have all the nikon lenses and next body I am planning to buy is Canon 5d markii so I was thinking if I should sell my lenses or just buy and adaptor and use em with Canon body. :-)
