Hi all
I am sure Sajha has bunch of genious ppl ready to share their experiences.

I am planning to take GRE test very soon for Graduate Engineering school. Due to the fact that I have only month and half to prepare, what is the best way to prepare english vocabulary part ? The Conventional way of repeating same word for 10 times n trying to set that in my mind is not working for me and also Hectic !!!

Any Suggestions???

Any useful resources ???

I don't know if you are aware of the new format of GRE starting after August 1st 2011. Current format is till Aug 1 st only. If you are planning to take the GRE, I would encourage you to find out which format suits you. The new format supposed to be easier for those who understands stuffs without excessive memorization. Meaning you will have multiple right answers to choose and less vocabulary but more passage.

For the old format of GRE, remember as many words as possible, especially the 1000 high frequency words in the Barron's (the ones with solid circles and squares in front of them). Try pneumonic methods, like someone above suggested relating it to something funny or vulgar works better. Go online and take some practice tests but remember it's only the PowerPrep test that will actually reflect your real score. Take those as many times as you can until you start seeing same questions again. I took them 6 times and my final score was close to the median of those 6.
You must know by now that getting the first 5-10 right will be the key to scoring high in the test.

For you have short time you can learn high frequency words first. Practise with bigbook. You can use SUPERVOCA.COM to build up your vocabulary. Good luck bro.
