Case: Dropped iphone 4 and broke it. I had no insurance or any protection plan and cannot afford $600 for replacement iphone 4.
Attempt: Tried to activate my original iphone (back from 2008) to activate on the current plan, but says not supported.
Carrier: At&t. Both iphones used SIM. (GSM)
Wondering if there is a trick to activate the old iphone. Need help pretty please!!!

Is the screen broken or the system isnt reebooting? if its the screen you can have it replaced for cheap,

if its not powering up go to apple and tell them it just stopped working just like that.
LoL last month my friend had same issue he went to Apple store without hesitation He was lucky enough they replaced his phone with new one .
and apple claims its Gorilla glass very tough, you just need to talk with them, they do replacements free if its within a year most of the time.
SO, Buy a phone case in 10 to 15 dollar.. It really Saves your phone. I dropped my iphone4 few times but I had a case on, so nothing happened..
i use SAmsung galaxy S android phone and is in otter box case, Kids droped it about half a dozen of times but nothing happens, worth to spend around 20+ bucks. It has outer hard case and inner soft........ that makes it really shock absorbant and comes with self aadhesive screen protectant. really loving it.
The screen is totally shattered. I already visited the store to see if they can do anything. No Luck yet!!
They could not even activate the first generations iphone that i already have. Sucks!!
Go to Att sfore . They will let you buy new phone for 200$. All you have to do is hand over your broken phone. If you still wanna use your old iphone then buy sim adjuster from Amazon or ebay. It will cost you few bucks only.
Good luck
Catchy heading. Good luck.
dimag kharab: original iPhone was 2g, most of the phones back then had a 3G sim from cingular/ATT. Since they don't make that sim for iPhone, ATT does not support the original iPhone, which is true. However you can still use it. Have 'em activate a new simcard, or put your iPhone 4 Sim ( you need a sim adapter, as its a micro sim.). It will work.
If you want to try, ask any of your ATT friends and insert their sim, you will get service. As for activating your phone itself, if its stuck on connect to iTunes, you need to jailbreak it.
