NY ma jada hotel usually sathi haru kai basincha so I dont know about the Hotels there but I heard its too expensive and people usually prefer staying in NJ.

Ani btw, Statue of Liberty and Madam Tussads (Wax Museum) ta 1 day mai sakincha. And there are a lot of places to visit in NYC. It will take at least 5 days to just roam around whole NYC .. Its freaking huge. I dont know how long you gonna stay there. But still I ll mention places to visit in NYC.

As you said, Liberty is the hot spot of NYC. Buy the tickets online otherwise you have to stay in a queue for a long time ani whole day ticekt ko line mai jancha. Ani while you are at Liberty island, visit Ellis Island as well. Also if you have time visit Staten Island.

And visit battery park its near the liberty of ferry chadhne thau .. and go to Wall Street, Visit NewYork Stock Exchange .. Visit Charging bull. Go to Brooklyn bridge, and then to manhattan bridge and see the china town. These are the atttractions in downtown NY.

In midtown, times square vaihalyo. Ani climb Empire state  building or top of the rocks at Rockfeller center. Go to Radio city. And watch any Broadway Musical.

Ani uptown tira .. go to central park. Visit the MET Museum, and all those musuems in Central park. and then go north to columbia university.  The Gentelman's clubs of Manhattans are really good. Also the irish pubs in 14th and 1ave are really good. Try to taste the local manhattan beers.

Manhattan is so big ... sabai ghumna vyaudaina so ... Go to queens now ... there is a plce called Jackson Heights, where you will feel like you are home. Lots of Indians, bangalis and nepalis lives in that area so you get the chance to eat good nepali foods there.

Then go to the Bronx Zoo and if you have time go to Long Island. The beaches of long island is really good. Go to Jones beach, coney island blah blah ...

I think yet ghumna lai you will take at least 3 days .. so pugcha hola

But definately will follow ur guidelines ... The only thing now.. Do u know ny specific place in new jersey where they good hotels for affordable prices... And what do u think about visiting by car? There are few motels in queens (forget Manhattan or Brooklyn). There's one in Queens Blvd, I think Motor Inn or something, if you stay there then you can take subway to the city as driving inside NY is a nightmare.

NJ has plenty of cheap motels, I suggest getting close to the Path train.

The best place and cheap place to stay is in China Town. Litle bitt dirty but hey, its gonna be cheaper than any other hotels or motels.
The best thing is to buy that City Sightseeing ticket which is good for 3 days.
