Good news indeed but what if dont pay the fines and don't you think 18 months is a bit too little. He gets out in 18 months and enjoy the rest of his life with all that money. I think his son is here in the USA, running a gas station.

Good news indeed...all the corruption money should be returned to the taxpayer with fines and interest and the criminal must be punished. I agree that 18 months seems too little.

I think the 18 months includes a day and night that comes down to 9 months, then they deduct holidays and such and it comes further down....and with some corrupt Deal ( for eg: now Jhale is in power so, Congress will agree to drop charges on Jhale's man if they agree on taking Wagle out of the prison)

A great start for our country.

There was a hint of this last month, when his lawyer was in panic and renounced the position of 'barishtha adhiwaktaa'.

The next in line should be all the ministers who put Nepali in dark for so long (i.e. power outage). The corruption has shake our society.

God bless Justice Ram Prasad Shrestha. He is an honest man, not afraid of putting criminals behind the bars. he is like a KP Bhattarai, because though he is a chief judge, he owns very little property and is honest.

 A great start indeed.

Corruption is a very serious crime that has led our country to what it is today.

I encourage everyone to file a complaint to CIAA against anyone who you know is corrupt and abusing his/her authority. Lets begin this right now.

The link to file a complaint is:

What a news! It made my day. I waited 8 years for this news. Now we do not have see Wagle as a politician ever in Nepali soil. Let him decay in the jail.

Kudos to Supreme Court and all other professionals, who made it possible.

Punishment is not enough. We also need to be able to reward the leaders who are doing a good job. Unfortuntaely, our ability as a society to reward the leaders who are good is not that effective. That is why so many leaders take the risk of being bad rather than to take the trouble for being good. If we had better means by giving respect, social status, writing wonderful articles and blogs, doing video interviews and celebrating good leaders in this way, then perhaps we could induce more Nepali leaders towards taking the road that Justice Ram Prasad Shrestha has taken. This is a great win for the Nepali justice system!
