Any Nepali Students in California State University East Bay?
I will be starting my Graduate School this fall at California State University East Bay. I would like to connect with some Nepali students at CSU East Bay. It would be cool to talk to some folks who are already attending this University and do not mind sharing helpful information such as campus life and accomodation. Thanks!
What are you studying man?
Rohanp,
I am near the area. What are you studying?
guitardaku, do u study there?Have you seen Guns n Roses" Guitarist by any chance. I hear he just bought a castle over there.
I m also joining this University for MBA. If you want you can contact me.
Hey man, care to share your academic and career background?
For the record, I live in the area and I've thought about joining the MBA program ( either there or SF State or U of San Francisco ) but my work experience and GPA are average at best. You can send me a pm if you don't feel comfortable sharing your info.
Bidroh & GuitarDaku- Even though, I am from totally different background. I will be studying Master's in Biostatistics. I need some information on apartments or roommates nearby. How is the area in general?
1ans-I think in-state is around 6k per year and out-of-state around 12k per year.
@1ans, Nope. I think Metallica members also own stuff around here. The only person I have actually met and shaken hands with is Joe Satriani. He was cool.
@rohanp, Nice. Email me passinthru zero five (they are numbers) at hot mail.
amplified- thanks how should i contact u?
Thanks GuitarDaku, check your email.
Anyone else attending CSU east bay?
rohanp, did you have a good academic background, GMAT score and a decent career record?
I've got a pretty poor GPA ( 2.5 ), I scored 550 and I've got no experience in my major, Finance. I don't know if I should even apply man.
Bidroh, Look I have taken both GRE and GMAT and after contemplating a lot I am joining MS Biostat. Even though, my undergraduate was not business related, I did take lot of marketing and business courses. I have about five years of experience but still not going for MBA. Have you done any linear algebra or some mathematics in your undergrad? I noticed someone else here who is going to MBA in CSU-East Bay, may be he/she can give you better picture.
But I did consider MBA at CSU-East Bay. Their requirements are not that stringent. I know GPA could be a drawback but if I were you I would still give it a shot. Here is the link for their MBA program: http://www.csueastbay.edu/ecat/current/g-buad.html#section3 .You can always write a good personal statement and bring up good points and reason for the low GPA. If you need someone to look over your personal statement you can message me.
Besides, If you feel so demorilized due to GPA, retaking GMAT and scoring higher might be the best option.
But be confident and go for it. Your focus should be on your strengths not weaknesses.
