A
Farmers Branch man was killed early Sunday when he was thrown from his
car after it rolled several times on Texas 183 after his vehicle failed
to negotiate a curve, Irving police said Monday.
The Dallas County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Bipin Thapa, 26, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
His
passenger, a 21-year-old Irving man who police did not identify, was
taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. He was in good condition
Sunday, police said.
The accident was reported about 1 a.m. Sunday in the westbound lanes of Texas 183 in Irving.
Thapa
was driving a gold 2000 Honda Civic at a high-rate of speed when he
attempted to exit the highway and failed to negotiate the curve, Irving
police said. He lost control of the car, it slid off the highway and his
vehicle overturned several times, Irving police said.
Alcohol may have been a factor, according to Irving police reports.
Thapa did not appear to be wearing a seat belt while his passenger was wearing his seat belt, the reports stated.
