Hey its funny. Just a thought. Do you share your apt? I had a similar situation. I purchase cotton pant, shirt, t-shirt shoes from JC Penny back in 2000 cost me over $80. But my rootmate throw it in trash since it was near by the kitchen and he thought it was a trash.

Next day when I ask him if he saw the plastic bag, he easily told me that he throw in trash last night. I told him it had my clothes and he just ran to the trash but trash is empty...

felt so bad. I used to make $7 and that pant was for my interview ........

I still remember that incident.... I hope your situation is different but please ask your friends. who knows they might have put it on different place.........
