Dear Friends,

This is an appeal to you all to help and support Ms. Dil Sobha Shrestha’s noblest of the noble mission of “service to humanity” in a Briddhashram in Nepal

I had the opportunity to meet and converse with Ms. Dil Sobha Shrestha on May 5 and 7, 2009, in Kathmandu during my recent trip to Nepal.  She won my high admirations during our first meeting because of the great humanitarian deeds she was carrying out.

She has a house in the middle of Kathmandu at Udayabasti Marga near Soaltee Mod, Rabi Bhawan.  Instead of renting it and making some money, she opened her heart and doors of her home to the helpless and destitute single women of Nepal and gave them shelter and food.  These were the women nobody, even their relatives and friends, bothered to take care of.  As a matter of fact, Dil Sobha picked them from the streets, hospitals and even morgues, where they were left to die, or deemed dead.  She gave them a new purpose of life, indeed, by bringing them to her home and providing utmost hospitality.

Dil Sobha currently has 31 single women and two kids at her home.  Most of these women need medical care: one of them is 102 years old.  She and the members of her Briddhashram have been surviving on a meager support she receives from the local businesses: she has no stable source of income.

Dil Sobha is not part of any NGO and she does not incur any overhead or administration cost, because she runs the Briddhashram herself.  It is totally her responsibility to provide food, shelter and medical treatment to the members of the Briddhashram.  I have attached a file containing some pictures at the Briddhashram.  A documentary, featuring her and the Briddhashram, can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/channelnicky and it is entitled “Great Daughter, Dil Shova Shrestha.”

Nepalese Association (NAH), as decided in the monthly meeting on July 18, 2009, has set up a “NAH Briddhashram Fund” in order to support this Briddhashram.  Therefore, I request you to kindly open up you hearts and show your generosity by making contributions to this Fund.  We will update the “Donor List” periodically, and we are looking forward to seeing your name on that list.

Please mail the checks made out to “Nepalese Association of Houston” with a note on the memo as “NAH Briddhashram Fund” to the address:

Nepalese Association of Houston

6776 Southwest Freeway, Suite 450

Houston, TX 77074

Alternatively, you may visit the NAH Web site www.houstonnepalese.org and click on donate in order to contribute using your credit card.

On behalf of NAH, I thank you all for your unflinching support and generous contributions for this noble cause.

Best regards,

Rajendra Shrestha

President, Nepalese Association of Houston

Thanks a million to the original poster of this thread! ... I touched the heart of mine. I don't earn as much as Nepalese living in the US. But I promise to cut my spending and will to contribute for DilShova didi's mission. Give me her account details if someone has it. I will contribute 5% of my income as a contribution for the help of helpless mothers of Nepal. I am willing to do this as for humanaterian basis. I don't have any hidden agenda behind this. We all have old age to encounter.

Please give Ms. DilShova's account number. I will transfer or arrange money in either way of options available to remitte the money on her account.

This will be the small contribution. But I surely hope the it will encourage many Nepalese living abroad. I hope to get satisfaction guaranteed.

Let us keep  this thread active. It seems everyone is trying to find the right contact/process  for little bit of contribution and to be blessed by a lot of mothers. Let us make a collective effort than individual.

Few suggestion.

1.  Let us make a  website
2.  Publish detail contact and acount/Paypal etc
3.  Let us contribute what ever we can everymonth from our salary .
4. Personely visit  these mothers when we visit Nepal.
5. Bring attention to charity org in USA and make them contribute and help.
6. Talk to our co-worker and request them to contribute.
7. Associate with other medical charity org  and make them visit this Ashram for regular health checkup to our "AAMA"
8. Please  highlight in ANA where we spent at least millions every year in our party and get together.
9. Request  our highly respected Mahabir Pun  Dai to visit this place sometimes and donate what ever we collect on our behalf.

There are so many mothers around world who are in similar situation. We may not be  able to address situation  around the world. Let us start what we can  in our own beloved country Nepal and start with "HamroAama"

Here is my commitment.

1.Register a domain and pay for life long as long as this Ashram keeps going(All,Please suggest the domain name")
2.Make a website ( I am not web programer, will get help from some friends and pay for their professiosnal work)
3.Once website   completed, handover the responsibility to concern team in Nepal who can directly work with and manage the domain and finanace for better acountability .

We all are living here in materialist world  forgeting everything.

I ran out from further idea, Please suggest more,  let us get together  like minded people and do something. We can not be spectator all the time and keep watching the suffering and write comment in here. I have been contributting little bit here what ever I can "http://www.anangelinqueens.org/".Let us do it for our AAMA as well.

Houstonneplese.org  has done highly appriciable jobs. will definately contribute through your website as well. Let us make one  website and one ponit of contact rather than multiple .

Apologize if my above comments are inhuman and  inappropriate.

Warm Regards  and Respect to all.
