JFK airport from Penn station
hey friends,
i am trying to get to JFK airport from Penn station, any idea how long would the commute take and what line subway should i get on?
thanks.
take a bus-that goes direct to jfk. will cost u aroun 15-20. mind u this is not a city bus. else take a cab-$45 or take train-google it!
Take brooklyn bound A train, get off at Howard beach, then take Air train to JFK.
or
Take queens bound E train, get off at Sutphin Blvd, then take Air train to JFK.
total cost: $7. either way
Take LIRR to Jamaica and then take air-train. Total cost about $12.00 but is fast and convenient, it will take you 35 minutes to get to JFK terminals from Penn station.
From Penn Station, take Jamaica Center bound 'E' train to Sutphin Boulevard (JFK) and then take Air Train to the Airport terminal. It takes approx. 45-50 minutes.
Go to the MTA website. There is a trip planner option. You can plan any trip from any point in NYC
For example the trip planner result of your case is

Sounds intimidating, but you have one more option - by far the quickest: Take a helicopter!
Seriously, East 34th Street (Not too far from the Penn) has a helipad, where you can hop onto a helicopter to JFK - gets you there in 8 minutes!!
Here's the link to their schedules and pricings:
