This years ANA is sucking big time. Kasto jhoor. Even on inauguration they played american national anthem before the Nepali one. I was so pissed because of that.
ANA Conference = ANA gathering and party.
Do not disappoint about ANA conference, it is just a party where people meet
and enjoy. But this time you were disappointed by running American Anthem
followed by Nepali Anthem.
Some of you may have argument we should have played the very old one "गाऊछ गीत नेपाली ज्योतिको पंखा उचाली, जय जय
........ over new one. If someone asks me about new one, I liked the very
old one over new.
As other said, if you have gone first time and had no idea how it
goes, may have disappointed . Those who had gone before enjoyed it meeting
friends residing all over the USA
because it is the best party time to reunite. If you visit next year, you would
not be disappointed again, because you know what to expect.
I do not blame ANA organizer only, we participants are equally responsible for a successful conference.

I think people need to change their prude mentality. It is fair to say that you need to appreciate this great country and what this country has provided to you rather then being upset why they did not play your national anthem.
It is not about the national anthem its about your way of thinking and how you perceive things. This Nepali mentality will never change if you ask me. That's why our country will never prosper.
For all of you who has posted before me. I read couple of yours posts and I don't mind ANA playing American National Anthem first or last.... Dude... I don't care.......... But, I will tell you guys I am a TRUE NEPALI, a real Gorkhali. So, Chill out guys, don't worry and enjoy the moment you live and stop worrying what's happening in US but if you really care go back to Nepal and make some difference if you can............ My Nepal, My Pride.........

Since ANA establish, all youth of America do nothing but gathering in group, drink alcohol and do 3rd class gossips.
They do not do any creative activities.
They do not do any informative and helpful activity for Nepalese communities and Nepal.
ANA can do many things for Nepal, but ANA never ever done anything.
There are so many problems in Nepal and Nepalese communities around the world.
1. India invasion in Nepali borders. ANA never ever raise any single issues and opposed anything to Indian embassy. ANA can do but never ever done about it.
2. Duel citizenship issues and matter for all Nepalese around the world. ANA have no clue about it.
3. Support social development projects or mini self-sustain project for Nepal. ANA have ability to do these kids of small scale projects to contribute to mother land Nepal. But ANA never ever do or think about it.
Stop complaining about ANA and all. Its a mass gathering and they can't please everyone . For those of you who went to spent your hard earned money and start complaning on sajha now, you should have read the past sajha thread and stayed home and enjoyed the fireworks locally.
ANA playing American anthem first should not be an issue. It is not an issue.

A few things about the ANA Convention (and this thread):
- Playing of the American National Anthem before Nepalese National Anthem
- Out of respect of the host country, which, in this case, is the United States, the Star Spangled Banner must be played. This was a very good decision by the organizers and it follows international protocols
- Forums
- As expected, forums started later than usual.
- The quality of the forums was a lot better this year, because of the solid contents. The intelligent community in California did a very good job bringing different perspectives and initiating a knowledge base for the Nepalese community.
- Overall: B
- Cultural Program
- Very well organized compared to other years
- धेरै लामो भयो। Enough said.
- Overall: C+ (Better than last year)
- DJ Nights
- Music was fine. A regular DJ night, as expected. There needs to be a better protocol in terms of ending the DJ night, because there seems to always be dissatisfaction
- What's up with the fights? We Nepali people love our दगां फसाद , but this is ridiculous.
- Overall: C+
- Fashion Show
- Best organized program of the convention, two years in a row.
- I was thoroughly disappointed this year, however, with the awkward moments during the show itself. The folks did an excellent job, but there seemed to be a slightly uncomfortable feeling in the contestants, which could have been avoided if there were more rehearsals.
- Overall: B+
- Concert
- Did not attend because of the crowd
- Sports
- Communications about sports results could have been done better
- Overall: C
- Venue
- EXCELLENT! It was very convenient to get to
- It would have been even more excellent if they could have gotten soccer and basketball venues that were close to the BART, but one can't get everything
- Overall: A
- Security
- It was good that the security personnel didn't seem unwelcoming
- Overall: B+
Overall, I give this convention a
B

Of course , this behavior ( drinking all over the hotel place , lobby to parking space, throwing cans and bottles all over) is seen each and every ANA convention which ruins what ever positiveness we have and had . We return with a feeling , was not worth of attending ANA convention again.
Does not put stupid fashion show any more.... it has nothing to do with person talent? Neither fashion/dress was charming, creative, nor attendees were charming. What's the point of telling fashion telnet show?
Real Fashion show must be professional fashion designer has to have his/her fashion collection which display with models in a creative ways. That is called fashion show.
Just waste of time and junks...
People are just doing Advertisement about their daughters and sons on stage, rather than doing real fashion designers’ collection show.

Damn!!! Fonts are getting bigger and bigger now. Let me ask you guys one thing have you seen any program organized by Nepalese people in the world have been decent?
So knew this gonna happen you chose to go and why complaining??? I have been hearing this complain for years, I chose to not to waste my money. Bought some stuff to myself and enjoying it.
