Anyone bringing their parents with language difficulty should make sure that they have the full address, home/cell phone contact, cab money and a cell phone with them. All that bling is just way out of line. Come on, people, grow up before someone gets serously hurt. If you cannot take care of them while they are here, don't bother inviting them over...

well regarding her i have some more information

i heard her daughter insisted her on carrying the cell number

but the woman, she said she's going nearby and will be back

so they dont need to bother about it

yup she was found on the bank of river/ sea.

she was warned about spanish peoples in the park

therefore she had covered her jewelleries.

and the interesting thing is they even asked their peoples in nepal to go n see an astrologer

and the astrologer told them that she was safe, nothing had happened to her and her ornaments

and she'd be back soon.

and there an indian brought her to jackson height lol

see sometimes astrologers do something that we are bound to believe them lol

I thought she went missing on Friday and was recovered three days later with a little help from a bhaiya. Did she spend three days on the bank of the river/sea?
Too much 'guff'.

You invite family members and don't take long enough vacation from work to spend time with her/him or show him/her around, the visitor will get bored as hell. You see having a visitor from Nepal over here is a financial decision too. You need to be committed enough to make the visit worthwhile for the whole family. And why so much Gahana. No one gets impressed with traditional Gahanas here anyways. It just serves as a temptation-boost to the would-be-kidnapper.

No excuses... She was not taken good care of and this is the consequence... How come an Indian was a good Samaritan here? I thought 100% of them were really evil people going by the posts in Sajha... Yes, good lesson for the Indian hating ignorants.

i learned that she could only speak few broken english word.
she said to many people including NY police officer whom she met along the way,
"help" "help", "lost" "lost" and "jackson heighs" but i think nobody was able to make out of it
or was simply scared of getting involve!
finally she met the Indian guy and said the same thing "help" "help", "lost" "lost" and "jackson heighs" by this time she was in Ridgewood., south of Jackson Heights.
The Indian guy initiatives told him that she was a Nepali lady and so he helped her.
Then here's another twisting part.

She did not let the Indian guy to drive her to her apartment in Jackson heights. She got off
at some retail outlet called "Cosco" where she told him that she knew the way home from there.
So she walked backed home.

anyway she is fine.

Wow,what can I say about this?

She is our bujhruk,we need to respect our elders. But after being rescued by a good samatarian, how can one not let him/her drop her to her house and introduce him to her family?Atleast a thankyou from family members was needed .Don't you guys think so?And here since the guy turned out to be an indian was treated like that????We Nepalese will never learn manners.............

If that's true then,I feel really bad. What a way to say thankyou for helping a senior who was lost in a new town !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thankgod atleast she is rescued .Good news .Even I was wondering what happened to her.

are you implying folks that because one Indian turn out to be a Good Samatarian, we should change our
views about them.

NO WAY.

In fact we should be more cautious with Indians. Never trust them. They sure come and back stab you
given any chance, any time.
One example.
One time i had to take a cab in NY. At first the Mexican/Spanish driver stop for me.
I told him if he could drive me to the given location. He simply said, "sorry Sir but i do not know".
I thank him anyway.

I waited, and second cab arrived. He too told me he didn't know the place. I thanked the "Caribbean" driver too and he left.

Suddenly this cab which was coming from the opposite direction which i was standing, make the ILLEGAL U-turn and came to me and And ask me" where you going" in sharp hindi accent.
I show him the address. He stared for a while but told me to get inside anyhow.
After 4-5 minutes, the Indian driver phoned his friend or the taxi company about the direction.
I asked him if everything was alright. He told me not to worry. Then he asked me where i was from.
Nepal came my reply. Then he started to tell me he has many Nepali friends.

After 20 minutes, somewhere at Broadway he told me i have arrived at my destination.
I thanked him and paid him the amount. Before getting out,i asked him one more time if this was
a right place. He told me Yeah and told me to turn around the corner. He told me it was one way
so he had to stop me there.
He left. My feeling gave me i was at the wrong place. After walking for some distance, i asked the people around there. They told me that i was at the wrong place.
My written address was at the East Broadway, but this indian some how have tricked me and dropped me off at middle of Broadway. It was 10.15 pm at night. My bus was leaving  at 11pm.

Totally agree with bideshi!

One of my relative also lost her host's address (but thought she knew the address) and made an Indian Taxi driver to drive towards opposite direction in NYC and later she found that out and they returned all the way back. Driver noticed that she was new to the place n worrying a lot due to all this...he did not charge a single penny tho she insisted to pay, he said u r like my sister and I just want to make you happy. This is another example of a good samatarian

JPEG what about your views on castes other than kirat? (or whatever ur caste is as I don't follow ur threads that closely)

Since you brought this up khushi, i have to tell you folks.
I think Kirat denotes to all the Nepalese and not just rai, limbu, etc who have been identified by scholars long time ago.
Kirat Pradesh has been found in many earlier documents before Nepal. Hence i am sure that Kirat or Kirati means to all the Nepali people living in Nepal now or have been.
The bishnu purano, one of the ancient text also mentioned that caste system was absent in Kirat Desh(Nepal). Hence regarding this i am confident that the existence of several ethnicities was due to this system which arrived in Nepal later.

I read in one of book by Dor Bahadur Bista on how the ruling class wanted to divide people/group into caste system.
I also read "The History of the Kirat People", 2003. It throws severals light on how several ethnicities came to be in Nepal. For example, the book states that Kirat people came to Indian sub-continent and China from Assyria in Mesopotamia.
The first group that entered the Indo-Gangetic Plain and the Himalays regions was the Kiratas.
The second group and third group that migrated from China/Tibet and Mongolia into Nepal respectively are also mentioned.
The assimilation of second and third group of people with the Kiratas resulted in several ethnicities.

But it can be seen that all these 3 groups are the same and have been living in Kirat Desh viz Nepal.

Why do you guys hate Indian people, when you listen to Hindi music, watch Hindi movies and even talk in Hindi(instead of English) when you meet them?

I have rarely seen a Nepali who doesn't understand Hindi or do not talk Hindi. How many of you won't go to an Indian store around your area if there was one (for those outside Nepal)? So all you hypocrites, look at yourselves before you call yourselves Indian hater. Just because you had bad experience with couple indian people doesn't mean all of them are like that. You will find many nepali people who are far worse that Indians.

yeah danfe123 you are right. when your motherland is under threat, and once your motherland becomes
part of Indian state, then you will sure speak hindi, listen to hindi, shop in indian grocery store and so on.
the only place you want to find out about nepal would be in museum.

sure love your bhaiya. why not. the choice is yous.

JPEG,

I do not support any encroachment of our boarders by any country or by India. And just my two cents, I do not thing India or any country will be able to take over Nepal in this era. All I was trying to say was let's not stereotype individuals based on a few bad experiences we had with some Indian people. How would you feel if you treat some people with respect, but not get that same respect back, just because you are from Nepal.

According to world population statics, India currently have a population of 1,147,995,904.
That's not even counting those living outside India.

Hence let's say 1% of the Indian population is bad, you do the maths.
If you can't do the maths, then here's the answer

1% of 1 147 995 904 = 11 479 959

For your information, Nepal as of 2008 have only 29,519,114 people.
1 single Indian who happens to be good Samaritan doesn't reflect the whole Indian population.
