FRIENDS,

I was thinking to share informations about the changes and developments in and around Lakeside, Baidam area. I am from karkaletol( place between the phirke ko pool and shanti patan).

Friends, if you have traveled Nepal recently and have found any changes, Pls share. Our roads and highway have big time with potholes and frequent bumps. Even though Recreational spots are big assets for the tourism, nobody seems to take responsibility and accountability for their gradual disappearance.

Mushrooming hotel business seem to take steps in luring tourist but remain silent when questioned where their hotel's vaults and conveyances under them for sullage pit heading to. We know the answer is phewa lake. It is being polluted everyday. Phewa lake will be the next one to disappear soon.

Pls have you say.

BASh,
Thank you for the compliment. I have wishes and good luck for you.Which part of baidam are you from?

gc 1488.

KARKALETOlE: Karkaletol is the ancient name which has been replaced by Multhok. Multhok is now again replaced by Shantipatan. I remember my grand parents and even my father used to refer the location by multhok, Baidam. In my childhood, i remember people used to grow plethora of karkala in the space between Shantipatan( dr PK pal house) and Malpot office.

To be exact, karkaletol lies between.
North: gairikhet
South: basundhara park
East: malpot or phirke ko khola
West: Shantipatan

Thank you!

Pokhara is one example but this is the scenario of entire Nepal. Development goes unchecked regardless of the location and its impact on the surroundings. And most hotels are built with short term benefits.

Remember countless big/small hotels that popped along major highways especially Mugling. Imagine how much raw sewage and garbage are spewed into river Trishuli every day and at what rate???

I would very much like to study such impacts if get funded.

Haphazard development and urban sprawl are the results of improper planning and impact assessment studies.

But a country there is constact political strife between 22 parties with stupid leaders and the only thing they care about is KURSI and self development - who would care about the hotel/roads development and their impacts????

God save mother Nepal.

Snowfed River,
Very well said! Thank you. No assessment, no intervention, and hence no evaluation. Things keep going on. The cycle need to be established.

what cycle r u reffering to? u mean cycle of destruction or cycle of assessment etc. if u mean latter than u might have to wait long cause stupid nepal leaders are always busy chasing KURSI let alone worry for Nepal's development.
