Hi,
One of my good friend wants me to write a letter of sponsorship for him for the Visa process back home.
He is applying for USMLE exam VISA.
Now he sent me a format where I need to put my socoal Security number at the end of the letter.
I am not very much comfortable providing my SSN in a simple letter like Sponsorship.
Now I need your suggestions, If I really need to put my SSN ...

you should not give you SSN. you can send any of your photo ID like licence. that will work. don't be foolish to give your ssn.

No you don't need to. Just write simple letter with your name and adress, better if you provide your work address. Visa rejection rate for candidates applying for USMLE is extremely extremely extremily low.
