I know Nepali are huge fan of Wai-Wai noodle but I am a huge fan of Ra-Ra noodle.
Here in USA we get waiwai (thai) almost similar to the one in Nepal. I searched hard for RaRa but never found it.
Does anyone know where to get Rara.. if not, atleast a near substitute for rara....
lol..i like rara too..but when i was in nepal they have so many new brands rara is almost extinct..i doubt you can find rara here...closest brand could be maggie from indian store?
..there's one called tom-yum or smthg... its not exactly like
RARA since the soup flavor is really sour n spicy but the
noddle part is very crunchy..even crunchier than the usual fake
wai-wais we get here.
I miss
RARA too..
First time I tried RARA in around 2040 BS at the age of 5-6, i did not find it tasty. then somebody at my house compared it with gaduala (earthworm). I felt so bad that it became my last taste to RARA noodles. How come some people still like RARA when there are so many good noodles in the market? Is is really tasty or it is just your typical taste that you like?
मान्छे को जात पनि गजब को हुन्छ, जे छैन तेही चाहिन्छ। उता नेपाल को मान्छे हरु American रोमन noodles खाना पाय कस्तो हुन्छ भन थानछन
Ctal ji, Well Rara is RARA.. Cant describe the unique taste it gives when u eat.. i know there are so many noodles in the market... But Rara is the first and the last option .. atleast for me..
Ani Bisal Bro.. J chaina tesaiko dherai Ichhya huncha..dherai payo bhane value ni ghatcha k ..
Miamiink, I have seen tom-yum in chinese stores .. but have never tried.. I think I should give it a try under yur recommendation .
I think Rara noodle is closest among noodles to the "authentic" chicken soup based noodle and people who like chicken soup tend to like the taste of Rara. Wai Wai and the likes are more dominated by tomyaam flavor.
I used to like Rara. Just add water, the spice that comes with it and some green chillies. It will taste like one of those chicken soup you get in tibetan restaurants back in Nepal.
I've always been a huge fan of Rara chowchow too. This is the best chowchow that's served cook. Wai Wai is the king though but I prefer cooked Rara to any other chow chows in the market. Everytime my friends/family members/ relatives come from Nepal, I try to make sure they brought me some Ra-Ra for sure.
By the way, have you ever wondered on the option of having your friends/family members shipping it from Nepal? It shouldn't be that expensive at all. Why don't you have your friends send you about 30 packets. It shouldn't cost more than 30 bucks! ( including shipping and all )
MY House's speciality Rara cooked till the water is evaporated or little left behind add it's masala then turmaric and then little lime to taste. In my opinion better than waiwai
