Unlimited strikes, what for?
Collaboration, an unheard word.
No electricity, a lifeless bulb.
Computer class, an off period.
no water to drink, no gas to cook...
shortage of fuel n these crippling strikes,
nowhere to go even if i wanted to flee.
jus got my paycheck, n its gone already!
seems like we spending dollars, n earning rupees.
hydro-powered electricity to bio diesel fuel,
a step forward or is it a developmental retreat?
10 yrs of revolution, n wot have we got?
thousands of dead n millions left to rot.
completely opposite set of ideologies,
no common grounds, nor analogies.
once arch rivals, joining hands now;
how can they reap, if they didnt even sow?
was it a revolution against the government,
or was it a mission against the nation?
'Naya Nepal'...a commercial jingle may be?!
or perhaps, a new nation in the making!
but, all i see is a country in dire,
bleeding all over, a country in need.
O great nation of Nepal,
stop the cries that goes unheard,
wipe the tears that goes unseen,
I am right here close to you,
n you in me.
Though the times r tough,
for you n for me.
We'll be together one day,
rejoicing every moment n to more on the way.
you ve given enough already,
its my turn to take care of you!
teach in a school, or clean the streets,
may be plant trees, n seeds of knowledge too.
m looking for ways to help myself,
help myself by helping you!
change is what we wanted, n change is what we got.
not that i can see, but if its for better, hope its here to stay!
Really loved ur heart-touching poem...Even i think of the infinite problems our country and its people are suffering. Nepal was so beautiful and peace , people were so culturally showered with dignity, respect and patriotism.
but now the leaders have shaken the country, they have left no options for the youth other than to run to foreign countries to continue their education and career.
But if every youth promise to return to our motherland after grabbing education, we can kick the corrupted leaders and people, and bring changes in NEpal in terms of socio-economic and political aspects,
thank you... :) i feel happy now :p
rythm ji, thank you for ur gracious words ;) why dont u try writing something about Nepal, or the psychology of Nepal, if u wish :p
aaisha ji, m glad it played, even if small, in evoking the thoughts that you ve expressed.
