There is no problem. Actually I think it's a benefit. You guys can donate each other's blood when necessary.

No problem. If both Husband and wife are RH positive then there is no problem.  The problem starts when husand is +ve and wife is -ve RH group. In that case the child inherits the quality of husband and there will be incompatibility bewtween wife's blood and featus.   Rahther than saying blood group as A, B or O it would have been much better if you have said your blood group according to RH.

But abnormal baby problem occours mainly when somebody marries close realtives. I think in your case there is no problem.

But think this way ........In this world there are 3 blood group A, B, O. 80-90 precent of people are positive. So millions and millions of people with blood group A-A, B-B , 0-0 positive have married each other without any problem. Broadly speaking in this world there are only 3 types of people.

henry14,
if both of you are B +ve there is no any health risk to you and your offsprings, its rather handy as sayami pointed out when either of you need blood donation. The +ve you mentioned is your Rh group.

no_quiero,
you are partly correct in your statement. There are in fact many blood grouping systems in human which yeilds 100s of blood groups but for all practical purpose we have been conventionally using only two systems, the ABO system and Rh system. According to ABO system there are four blood groups namely A, B, AB and O (not three as you mentioned) and by Rh system you can be either Rh+ve or Rh -ve (about 90% population is Rh+ve). So for practical purpose we have 8 different types of people combining both these systems. Still we do a cross match before blood donation to avoid mis-match from other systems.

Usually the problem lies when father is Rh +ve and mother is Rh-ve coz the child is going to be effected severely by Rh incompatibility. You should try to avoid such marriage and if thats not possible you should consult your doctor as there are medications available to prevent Rh incompatibility to some extent.
