Hello All,

I am employeed with a government company and want to file my H1B. They are willing to sponsor me but they told me to search a lawer myself and even pay the expenses. Same time, my HR also mentioned if I can file Green Card directly, they will also help me out.

Now, I need your suggestions in finding a good lawer and what would be better to file H1B or GC directly. I have a Master degree and currently working in the related field of my major.

I am also thinking of filing just H1B for time being and apply for Cadadian PR. I have a more than 5 yrs of experience in the same field and it does qualify under new NOC rules. Could you also suggest me any good Canadian Immigration consultancy or Lawer too.

Any inputs is appreciated!!!

Thank you and good luck to you all.

I guess you can not pay H1B expenses form your pocket. If they (Immigration) knew that you are bearing h1b expenses on your own then your petition will be denied. consult the expert

Thanks Daka G, but neither my company nor I will mention about the expenses. So, it will remain as the company is sponsoring.

Please need more inputs....its kind of urgent.

Best to get hold of a lawyer and go from there.  You can go to www.aila.org for information on lawyers.  Make sure, as much as you can, to get a good one.

from my understanding, PR and H1 are completely two different process. so u can do one or both at a time. since u've to  wait until to apply PR, i suggest u to work on ur PR now. its gonna take some time for PR process anyway. if u r lucky, u might get  labor by march. if not  u can apply H1-B in april. good luck.

last year my H1-B was denied. i paid the fee by myself. though i wrote the check to my attorny and he wrote the check to IRS. and as 'daka" mentioned earlier, i believe that was the main reason  for my H1-B rejection.

i agree with the people above. Try to get a very good lawyer, sure they will be expensive, or even very expensive, but its worth to get them. more than 50% of the case depends on how your lawyer presents the case. Google for some expert immigration attorneys and do some research. All the best to you.If you want to go through some good Nepalese lawyers, there is one in CA: Santosh Giri, haveheard that he is a professional. There are some more in the east coast, but dont know their nameson the top of the head. Good Luck on this also.
