MLK's Silence is Betrayal Speech (1967)

One of the most powerful speeches, I've heard in a while.  Especially during these times of strife and when history seems to be repeating itself in every scenario (America at War/America in a Depression/Lunar Wars/America still in chaos by intruding every where it sees fit).

Go ahead and post the ones you like...May turn out to be eye-openers for the many Siddharthas and Ashokas here in sajha who may just find they life's calling through these sublime speeches.  OR I could just post an inspirational speech one day at a time and have those who congregate here get enlightened on many issues that still plague the globe and on a minute scale: the US economy and us who live here.  I don't expect to see a Million Man March happen miraculously someday but as for me, you being aware of such ingenous work of art (Speeches such as the one below and the ones others may add later) is more than enough.

After Obama, what else??  Anything and everything is within grasp now...The sky and all the stars in it are yours for the taking

Here comes one of "the" inspirational speeches I have ever heard...

CC, yeah watched that speech a few months ago and have to agree that it is undisputedly amongst the greatest lectures of all time.  Heart-wrenching and yet, a true eye-opener to many of life's smaller things we tnd to overlook along our growing-up path ridden with anxiety and lust.  Thanks for making me relive the same scenario from a few months ago when Pausch died.

Awesome dude!!

It may not be one of the greatest speeches but it does worth 18 mins of your precious time...

"Fire up, ready to go"

He says this on November 2008...

"One voice can change a room..

and if one voice can change a room it can change a group,

if one voice can change a group then it can change a community,

and that one voice can then change a state and change the country."

...and I recently saw some Indian man wearing a shirt with those phrases.

Pretty irrelevent to the speech he gave up there, but, here's what I feel about Obama, and I quote here:

"New ChiGuy See Profile I'm a Fan of ChiGuy permalink

Perhaps I'm just jaded by the past 8 years. Perhaps even longer than that.

I honestly don't know how long it would normally take, but I hope the proud feeling I get when hearing my President speak clearly, crisply, and with such well crafted words, never subsides. "

And again somebody agrees like I do:

New MissAmericanPie See Profile I'm a Fan of MissAmericanPie permalink

I know. I am astounded every time I hear him speak. It really has been a long time hasn't it.
