Transit in Heathrow london
Namaskar,
I hold a US green card and Nepalese passport . I am travelling through Heathrow airport. I have 10 hrs layover. My flight lands in terminal 3 and i am planning to use Yotel rooms in terminal 4, and then again take a connecting flight from terminal 3, which looks like i need to take a bus to get to terminal 4 from terminal 3, do i need a UK visa for this(i mean to get back inside terminal 3 to take aflight)? any info on this will help.
Thanks
forsajha
forsajha bro,
VISA ko kehi tension linu pardaina...
Transit in heathrew was not boring for me. I hope you will enjoy there.. Be sure to be in terminal 3 by half hour before your flight because it's big airport.
Happy Journey
Forsajha,
what a dumb question. why in the world u need a visa while u in transit? Safe journey !!!!!!
forsajha Bro ,
In my knowledge u definitely need visa for transit as u need in the US.
forsajha bro,,
u may need transist visa if you want to come out from terminal 3.
terminal 3 an 4 are almost 13 minutes apart when u travel by non stop metro rail.
better if u could manage ur arrangement at terminal 3.
half an hour before boarding may not be enough..... heathrow is giagentic... i would give 2 hrs
also, tranfer between T3 and T4 is free by Heathrow Express, Heathrow Connect etc.

I found Heathrow airport funny. I have a relative in London. I had 12 h layover. i just took my chance and asked the custom office whether I can leave airprot. He gave me transit visa just like that.
The other time I was sure I will get transit visa. However the other office told me it is upon the discretion of him and he is not giving me one...lol...
NO matter what you guyus say I found Heathrow "boring" you do not know your gate until last 15-30 minutes. Sometimes you have to run as some gates are not that close from "main hall." I do not know which terminal I was talking abt here though...
bkb
U do not need transit Visa.U may need to at gate atleast 30 min before your flight though.
I spent 15 hours at London airport. 10 hours may not be big deal. THere is a rest area (next to Duty Free Shop watch sections) where you can find long room with sofas. You can stretch your leg and take nice nap.

Thanks all for your input.
I will be travelling with 3 year old, so i am really hoping to be able to get a room, as i can see heathrow airport site clearly says there is no place to sleep anywhere inside airport. Before booking my ticket to Nepal, I knew Yotel rooms were in terminal 4,and i will be landing in T3 but what i didn't know switching terminal would be big deal.
I have 3 weeks left, before i leave for Nepal. Is less than three weeks sufficient for me to apply and get get UK visa? I will apply for something like 24 hrs visa, has anyone done that? can i get the visa at airport itself? |
why dont u get multiple entry visa so that u can have luxury to come out on ur return journey aswell.I'm also flying out on 3rd of october to Nepal for Dashain/Tihar will be back on 1st Nov.If ur travelling date is before 3rd Oct I'm happy to pick u and drop u Airport and u can hav rest on my place as I live 20 minute away frm Heathrow.Just drop your itenary thru sajha.
Heathrow is one of the most expensive, congested and lousiest airports I have been to. I spent more than 25 hours combined while going to and coming back from Nepal. I was charged more than $35 for a two minutes call I made from the airport to USA. I know I should have bought a phone card, but I didn’t think it would cost me a fortune even if I didn’t. The main lounge was so cramped that I could hardly catch my breath. I also found their so called ‘toilets’ filthy in comparison to American restrooms. Overall, I was disappointed with the experiences I had at Heathrow - it was quite 'Rubbish'.
It has been a while since I flew through Heathrow. From what I hear, it's better to avoid that airport altogether.
Well. Heathrow Terminal 5 is brilliant. The average checking time in terminal 5 is about ten minutes. However, Terminal 2-3 can be crowded because heathorw is practically a gateway to europe and busiest airport in the world.
