you guys are very helpful. please also answer my question if you can. I'm doing my masters in usa and getting done in december. as f1 student, i do not have any solid work experence in the usa besides  some part time jobs here and there. When i came here i was 19 and didn't work back in Nepal as well. Can i ask someone to make experence letter for me from Nepal? i know some business owners who might help back from Nepal. what evidence of experence should i present to the consulate? please help me.

If your work fall under NOC it will count other wise it will not. It is very hard from sates coz they ask for paystub and w2. From Nepal it will only count if you were working while you were studying BS other wise it won't.

Kalopani,

Don't make exp. if you don't have one. you might just loose what 5 points for experience. But include all your TA, GA while you were working on your masters that might get you in. But with your qualification that should not matter much..

does anybody have an idea about the time it takes for the canada immigration process?

It takes from 14 to 22 months before they changed law in Feb 08. I heard that if your education or skills fall in shortage category  it will be faster.

I have received an invitation to apply for PR from Alberta provincial nominee program office. I am undecided whether to migrate to Canada or stay in USA and wait for my GC approval.

I am currently working in a US company and currently in second stage of my CG processing. It will take at-least 2/3 years before i get my green card. If i apply for Canada under provincial nominee program now it will take 6 to 8 months to get my PR.

My main worry is i will have to start everything from ground zero if i move to canada. and the advantage is i will become a canadian in 3 years.

So guys do you think it is worth moving to Canada rather than waiting for 2/3 years for green card ?

USofA,

If you can keep your job in this situation in US and there is high hope for you to get Greencard...my suggestion is stay here...Its my personal suggestion...I have been there and done that...

Himalaya 178, thank you so much for your suggestion. I'll definaltey do so and that sounds like the best thing for me to do as well. however, i was wondering since this is going to be skilled based immigration, is it okay to not show experence?

if you are on H1b and have some work experience then you may qualify for alberta PNP. Google "Alberta pnp h1b" you will find tons of resource.

PNP is most quickest way to get canadian immigration,  however it is not easy process. If You have  studied dor joboffer fron particular provence then you can apply as PNP. Since you are in US, employeer have to nominate you through goverment to qualify as PNP applicant.

Anyway Good Luck.
