H1-B Renewal without Attorney...
All,
I am thinking to renew my H1-B by myself, i just dont want to pay another $1000 for legal fee.
have any of you done this before without using your attorney?
it seems like it is not complicated, just fill up the I-129 and I-539
i am with the same employer since the begining, and same job and everything same..
my situation should be pretty simple and straight forward...
please share your thoughts..
thanks
kancha..
Dear Kancha,
The H has to be filed by the employer and the H-4 by the spouse of employee. The employer has to sign on the forms, support letter, cover letter and labor condition application as per requirements set forth by department of labor. You may prepare the petition yourself and get your employer sign it. However, inaccurate and incorrect information on H petition may result in Request for Evidence and/or in some case denial.
Concerning the fees, the H extension and all relevant filing fees MUST be paid by the employer. If employees are made to be paid such fees, it is illegal. One may file a formal complaint against such companies with department of labor.
Good look with your endeavors.
