Nepal is a republic.

The King is gone.

And everyone said all this will bring Prosperity & Peace for Nepal!

From 28th May08 to date June 4, 2008, the squabbling over the post of President & PM has started.

Prachande has threatened nationwide agitation if does not get both President & PM posts for his maoists.

The Tarun Dal (students' union of NC) has asked GP not to give up the PM's post.

There are rumors that Makune will be the President...

....and the FIGHTING STARTS...same like it has been with all these corrupt netas...NOBODY CARES ABOUT THE COMMON MAN.....

So where the hell is Nepal heading now?

...Is this what we wanted?...Damn it...

Exactly, this is what supposed to happen...I would say it would be worse coz we have voted some terrorists....so until we are changed, we should not blame leaders....we should have thought before voting Maoists....wait and see, the country will be worse.....Its like "Dukha paais mangale aafnai dhangale"....

The stand taken by NC and UML this time around is right and I would say justified, although looks like a usual fight for a post. I support the fact that maoist should be allowed to lead the government as they have established themselves as the largest party but they have to do lot more to ease the anxiety and fear of uncertainties that is there in everybody's mind in terms of their commitment  to competitive democracy. The behavior they have shown lately is indicating more and more that they want to follow authoritarian approach. If that indeed is true, then once they get the power, they may not give it up at all, may not hold election....NC and UML have negotiated and given in too much in the past with the hope of peace and lately they are not so sure a lasting peace will indeed prevail.
